Austin being the size it is without having one of the major 4 sports is crazy.
Nashville is booming and there’s not a team in the entire state of Tennessee
Nashville is the answer. Austin would never work. There isn't enough room for another professional team in Texas. Austin's pro team is UT. There is a reason there are no pro teams there. Those folks aren't going to support them.

You left off the Pro Sports town of Knoxville

Nashville, and then move the current minor league team there to NOLA.

that would be pretty good I think. I wonder what you go with for a region name int hat case. Can't use "Texas" obviously. It's not in Austin or San Antonio proper so not sure you could use either of those. "South Texas" sounds dumb. Idk

Not sure why everyone thinks Nashville is such a slam dunk.
It's a very transient city with a lot to do and a lot of transplants who already have favorite teams.
Where are Americans moving to? Americans are overwhelmingly choosing to move to the states in the Southeast, including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Nashville is #3 in nationwide relocation.
Orlando #9
Austin #16
Charlotte #18
Music City’s explosive growth in many ways can be linked to the enormous amount of people relocating from California.
California is home to three of the top 10 cities with the highest exodus of residents in 2021 and so far in 2022. In fact, the top two spots on the list are both in California.
(Highest Number of Move-Outs) nationwide:
1. L.A.
2. S.F.

Austin is larger than Nashville, plus a less saturated market. Add in San Antonio and you have an area with almost 6,000,000 people with only one big 4 major professional sport. Texas is a huge state.
Also, Austin is growing fast and many people there aren’t fans of the underachieving Horns and their pathetic drunk football coach.
Austin would be a slam dunk success.

Florida has 2 teams and no support for either, they don't need a 3rd.
Yeah if anything I’d move the rays to Orlando and build a smaller stadium.

Nashville
They can't even sell out eight NFL games a year.

The Nashville Sounds have top 5 attendance for MiLB games at ~7-8k per game.
An MLB bump, assuming you double attendance from there, puts them around them around Cleveland level attendance.
Either way, it’ll be better than what’s going on with the As.

Nashville. I think it would be hard for Austin to gain a fan following with most folks here already being fans of the Astros/Rangers
Put Austin in the same division and that will be a god problem to have
Charlotte and Nashville deserve teams
MLB needs to leave Tampa until they can get a quality Stadium. If I was Orlando I’d be bidding hard for them.
Cities on the honorable mention list:
Nola
Norfolk
Louisville
Nola could be a successful smaller franchise if they built a 20k seat stadium just off the quarter. But they would need a lot of security watching the parking lots

Miami and Tampa dont support there teams so i dont know if Orlando would support theres.

I always thought Orlando would be much better for the Tampa bay rays

It’s more because the university of texas doesn’t want to give up that cash cow.

Eh. Are they really? An hour down south in San Antonio it seems if you ask 10 people their favorite team you’ll get 10 different answers
Posted on 5/5/23 at 9:44 am to WestCoastAg
He might not be wrong. It San Antonio got a team I would probably make them my favorite team (maybe) but I would still follow the bravos pretty hard.

Nashville and it's not close.
