He was apparently a north African Berber. So not what one would probably refer to as "white" but almost certainly not "black" either, like most Mediterranean people at that time.

She could have made that statement without the “decenters whiteness” part and been completely on point but instead of focusing on the saintly aspects of St. Augustine she makes the primary assertion that the church overvalues white Saints and devalues black Saints. Come on now…

Well the “decenter whiteness” was her entire point. She’s just another prog who hates white people. Ignoring such people as they take over institutions is not working.
