in Florida, Disney is facing some controversy involving Gov. Ron DeSantis after he and other Republicans have called the corporation quote “woke” in the feud over the company’s stance against the law dubbed “Don’t Say Gay” by critics.

quote:

When we asked the governor’s office about the rush to get passes despite the controversy, they sent us this statement saying in part: “The governor has clearly stated that we want businesses to succeed in Florida ... But businesses must be allowed to operate on a level playing field without special privileges or the ability to run their own government,” adding a statement directly from the governor saying “despite all the stuff that’s happened in the last couple years, I’ve always been very proud of our parks.

quote:

Most tourists coming in from outside the area, they’re not going to care

quote:

They’re here to enjoy the parks and do the attractions and any of this drama, government issues, that’s completely not even on their radar,” he said.

Of ALL places, DeSantis got married at Disney

Okay, then why the big fuss over it?

Do you know what annual passes are? If you did, then the massive increase in population in Florida also coinciding with the rise in annual passes wouldn't be that suprising.

So....this is a backlash against RD- one of the most popular governors in the nation- and NOT due to the decline of covid?

I bet you enjoy your Disney vacations with a cold Bud Light, huh?

I'll say it again: Imagine defending groomer-arse Disney to dunk on DeSantis.

DeSantis just wants Disney to back away from trying to undermine Florida law (which is about protecting children from grooming). This is such a dumb take.

Florida man has melted your infantile brain.

IIRC, pass demand is high because the ticket prices got jacked to hell and back.

An annual pass is about as much as a few days of tickets.

That’s because he’s a closet pedo, like his best friend and top donor that just offed himself for being a pedo and getting caught. It’s point the finger tactics like Dems use

Always talking about groomers
Knows everything about groomers
Best friend and top donor groomer
Married at the place he accuses of being groomers
Eats pudding with his hands

Who fricking cares… I’d bet Universal is the same way too.

Both Ron and Disney are pandering in this stupid charade.

Disney did away with annual passes for the past few years and just started them back in phases. I think they’re just starting to allow for all of the types they used to offer.

This likely has nothing to do with politics.

Ron got cucked big time on this. Not only did he embarrass himself by getting out dueled and outsmarted by the Board, but Disney is twisting the knife hosting Pride events right in his face.

Do better Ronald.

This is absolutely stupid. They just reopened annual pass sales. Of course they're seeing high demand.

This is as stupid as pretending them selling out the parks right after people were finally able to travel from overseas was a good sign for Disney. Everyone who follows Disney's business knows this is nothing.

annual passes

Well there is a trade off.

With Disney raising park ticket prices, it only makes sense to get annual passes.

It is like going to Audobon Zoo. Tickets are 30 dollars for adults and 25 for youth for one park.

So a family of 2 adults and 2 youths wold be 110 dollars. If I buy an annual pass, it would cost 220 dollars, and I can go almost every day and see the Zoo, Aquarium, and Insectarium.

Disney is whole other story, they start at 400 and go up to 1400. Some passes are only for Florida residents and park entry is based on a reservation system for some passes with some blackout dates depending on level of pass.

I don't believe folks are making a decision whether to go or not go to Disney on political rhetoric.
