Yes

Attractive people have always had more value throughout history

It is what it is

and how do you accidentally try to get into the wrong car?

From the KVUE article:

quote:

"They pulled up, unfortunately to the wrong car. They thought it was one of the girl's cars – she went to get in the car, realized that there was somebody in there. She, I think, originally thought, 'Oh my gosh, there's somebody in my car,' and then she realized, 'Wait, this isn't my car,'" Shearer said. "Then the guy, from what we understand, the guy got out. She jumped back in her car, rolled down the window to apologize and say, 'I'm sorry, I thought this was my car,' and they saw that he had a gun."

I’ve walked up to the wrong car before. Luckily nobody else was in it. There are only like 3 primary colors most people get for their car, and if you have a popular model, it can easily happen.

It seems less likely to occur in a grocery store lot at midnight, but yea it's possible.

This story is odd. If they legit just got in the wrong car and made that clear, and the guy still shot them, then he was either there specifically to do this, those girls are incredibly unlucky to accidentally hop inside the car of a guy ready to murder teen girls for no particular reason, or this was a transaction gone bad of some sort.

A guy parks close to me at work that has nearly an identical pickup.

I actually opened his door one day and climbed up in the seat before I realized I was in the wrong truck.

1. It happens.
2. Lock your doors.

So we have a country full of mentally unstable people but most of you think more guns is the answer.

Spot on. Law and Order has been destroyed to get us back to the Wild West.

Part of the plan to justify trying to take the guns.

She’s actually going to be on the Acrobatics and Tumbling team at Baylor. Baylor has won multiple national championships in that sport. The group is talented and legit, but it’s still not a good idea for teen girls to make the Austin to Houston trip at night multiple times per week. Bad things can happen. And they did.

While I definitely agree, I don’t think she actually got into the car.

the way you know this story is BS is because they arent getting in a strange car with a guy they dont know by pure accident.

sounds like they tried to carjack him and he had a gun so they ran.

being cheerleaders doesnt allow you to carjack people without facing the FAFO rules

It says tried to get into the wrong car.

First off, it was dark, obviously. My SO has a black Altima and there's a ton of those around here. When he first got it, I walked up to and pulled on the handle of a car that looked like his coming out of a grocery store. I imagine that isn't terribly uncommon.

I would be genuinely surprised if four cheerleaders coming home from a legitimate practice tried to car jack the guy in the pic.

Most normal guys spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get cheerleaders into their car in their youth and this nut ball shoots them??

Wtf

That is correct. My bad.

I have a source whose daughter knows her and is a current cheerleader at Baylor. So, I'm getting 3rd hand info that gets changed every time the story is told like that game we used to play as kids.

OK, one other person asked about this and got called "retarded," but I'll try to summarize.

The girls got in the wrong car.

The actual owner of the car freaked out and exited it.

The girls noticed the car's owner had a gun, so they drove off in his car.

This happened at night, in Texas.

Have I misinterpreted anywhere? If not, I am not sure the shooter did anything illegal. There are sticky threads on the Outdoor Board where posters promise to shoot people for less, and cite Texas law to back up doing so.

According to ABC News, Heather Roth, a cheerleader with the Woodlands Elite, said in an Instagram Live post that she was the one who got out of her friend's car and opened the door of another vehicle she thought was her own, only to notice a man was in the passenger seat. She said she got out of the car and back into her friend's vehicle, the report said.

Roth reportedly said the man approached their vehicle and she rolled down a window to apologize. That's when the man started shooting, she said, according to ABC News. The Instagram Live post was no longer available early Wednesday, but Roth shared a number of posts that appeared to be related to the incident. She did not immediately respond to overnight request for comment.

Thank you for clearing this up. Seems like there's a lot of misinformation about this incident floating around. Saw the same thing with the KC incident a few days ago.

I'm no Texas criminal lawyer, but following the other person to their car and cutting down on them as they drive away doesn't sound like standing your ground.
