MO seems to fit your strategy of having stuff with O’s in the ticker with dividends.

Probably not the best time to be buying div stocks since they all have had runups with everyone looking for safe companies since last year. I own a bunch of Div stocks currently but not buying much. Here are the ones that pay great divs that are down. I figure in a few years these will have been great buys.

Banks: JPM,PNC,
Ind: UNP,NSC,MMM,SWK
Healthcare: CVS,CI
Other: WHR,MO,VZ
Financial: FIS

As mentioned MO/ PM. There was recent opportunity to get in at a good boring price. Might want to be patient. Maybe buy a little in a short term brokered CD while being patient ... at 4.x %. Maybe consider a little JEPI, JPM, ... or VZ on a small pullback?

It appears OPEC will come to the rescue of Energy stock investors when oil prices start getting too low. So, with that said, again, there was opportunity before the recent OPEC move ... EPD, TTE come to mind on another pullback. I'd be patient on entry with those too. You may not want more than one oil stock.

I know you’re asking for individual stocks but it’s hard to go wrong with DGRO and/or SCHD.

EPD Enterprise Products. Oil services out of Houston but big in Louisiana. 7% dividend and maybe the last undervalued P&G stock. Not for Roth but great dividend stock.

CUBE is solid at 3.8% dividend and growing.

Some people think Hertz is a potential target for Buffett. I’m going to buy at $15.

No need for a dividend strategy at the moment. I am making close to 5% on my idle cash.

Exactly

Why invest in stocks for dividends when a money market offers risk free returns?

Real question (no sarcasm or cynicism):

If interest rate is the thing here, why not use a fixed annuity at 5-6%, a CD, or similar without the market risk involved? Is it because of the hope of a capital appreciation combined with the dividend income, and/or using the dividend to reinvest in said stock? Thanks. I want to learn more.

(I understand the ability to exit the stock quicker than an annuity, but wouldn't need to because there's no market risk, so I approach this from an income standpoint.)

VMFXX

$3K minimum investment.

Buy it like you would a stock. Share price is pegged at $1.

It should give you returns monthly.

If I needed a dividend stock I’d be deep in JPM. It’s such an obvious long term winner, especially with the regional bank crises going on

I’ve been playing that exact strat on options for 3 months now. DE is running opposite of overall market. Play DE calls with my spy puts
