Projection.

Progressives hate their political enemies so they assume you do as well.

No, it wasn't. Another poster has linked at the top of page 2 where she addressed it. Again, she didn't grovel over it and say what YOU wanted to hear.

Who asked her to grovel? Being a vocal advocate of your former players well being is a good thing.

She came off like a dick. Not a make or break moment but if your kid was in a Russian jail that’s how you’d want her coach to act?

Griner feels the same way about the country and her political enemies as you do. You're a terrible liar.

You can make up whatever story you want about me. I dont hate America. I hate some assholes here. But so do you. You frickers hate over 50% of the population, the govenrment, the cities and then pretend it’s because you love the US.

Holy shite, I just read what Mulkey said about Griner's arrest in Moscow, and it's OUTRAGEOUS!

quote:

“Well I keep up with it, like you guys do as far as what’s in the National Media,” Mulkey said on the podcast. “I don’t make public comments. I think that is a personal issue. You just want everybody to come home safely, and I pray for Brittney. I want her home safely. I think there are lots of people speaking out on her behalf, and those of us who don’t necessarily speak publicly are praying for her.” That is the only time Mulkey has offered any insight into her thought process on the Griner situation.

And that's not all, previously she was quoted as saying this regarding Griner:

quote:

The coach declined an interview for the story, though she later released a statement to Fagan through a spokesperson which said: “Brittney Griner represented Baylor University proudly on and off the basketball court, and she leaves behind an incredible legacy. I cannot comment on personal matters surrounding any of our student-athletes, but I can tell you Brittney will always be a celebrated member of the Baylor family.”

That's all just so vicious.

the fact is she did something she knew was against the law in that country thinking it wasn't going to be enforced. she and others were shocked when the law was enforced.

other countries aren't like the US in many ways. she learned that lesson the hard and stupid way.

Mulkey's take on the Griener situation was right on. Don't break the laws of another country. The Woketards hated her because she wouldn't wear the ribbon. Like that would have done any good.

You're an idiot. Yea break a stupid law in some banana republic get 10 years, and you f#cking commies say "oh well she got what you deserve". Sickening. Some of you people are just subhuman and incapable of empathy. Leave the USA and move to Russia or China. People like you are why this country is moving to authoritarianism. Hey if the government makes a law we must blindly abide. GFY. Mulkey was stupid and I think she realizes it. In December she said this
“God is good. Prayers are powerful. Brittney is on her way home where she belongs,” Mulkey said in a statement to ESPN. “Our prayers remain with her and her family as they recover and heal together.”
So while you morons are praising her, I'm pretty sure she'd echo my sentiment and say GFY.

Unless Mulkey believes that the sentence for carrying Weed should be 10 years in a Russian prison no reason not to speak out against it.

How about this...let coaches coach the game they're involved in, let players play the game they're involved it, and let entertainers entertain. Leave politics to the politicians. KM commented on the BG situation, and moved on. It's YOUR opinion that Russia is too stern of their marijuana laws and it's YOUR opinion that it wasn't wrong, just illegal. Tough titty! BG broke the law...in Russia nonetheless. She should've known not to try and reason with unreasonable people, or just assume what she was doing wasn't a big deal. Her bad. People wanna just dismiss accountability nowadays and make excuses. BG should've been smarter.

Again, quit projecting.

If my kid was stupid enough to break a law in another country, what their coach says is the LAST thing on my mind.

Literally everyone in sports media that talked about it, and apparently the Baylor fan base, acted like Mulkey said to let her rot.

I don't get why you keep brining this up in your argument. MY KID would never get arrested with drugs in Russia soooooooo.......

If you love this country and don't hate the crooked pieces of shite running it and it's liberal cities across the nation that are running amuck then, YES, I likely hate you.

Doesn't matter what "we consider". Don't break the law.

So Kim didn't need to support her

It looks like either this writer or someone above him at that newspaper decided to change the headline.

When you google "Kim Mulkey" that story comes up under the headline Baylor should never have allowed Kim Mulkey leave for LSU.

You need to do your research before you start criticizing someone. What the media failed to print or voice was that Kim was protecting her player. Baylor athletes have to sign a behavior clause and abide by it. If Griner would have stated her sexual preference then she would have been dismissed from Baylor. Kim told her to keep quiet to stay in school. Don't always believe what media spews. They are in it for themselves.

Maybe Mulkey thinks cannabis is a really bad drug.

Maybe Mulkey thinks it's a really stupid idea to transport illegal substances across international borders.

Maybe Mulkey thinks it's a really stupid idea to transport illegal substance across an international border into an authoritarian state.

Maybe Mulkey thinks it's a really stupid idea to transport illegal substances across an international border into an authoritarian state that has had an adversarial relationship with the United States for over a hundred years.

Given all these hypotheticals, maybe she thought it was just too difficult to support someone making those really bad decisions.

Maybe Mulkey is trying to make a point to her current players that if they get caught doing something really stupid, they're going to have to pay the consequences for their bad choices, and that it's better to make good choices.

In my opinion, Griner just acted like an entitled athlete who thought she was untouchable.

Ok. So, if a citizen of Grand Cayman were to travel to the US and drive with a blood alcohol level of .09, which is over the limit in every US state. He should be allowed to go free because in the Grand Cayman, the level allowed is .1?

What a stupid take.

Respect the laws of the nations in which you live.
Respect the laws of the nations in which you travel.

This ain't rocket surgery.

You do realize she addressed the BG situation the first time it was brought up during an interview? The problem was they were constantly asking her something she already answered. That’s when they got their feelings hurt.

I don’t answer my kids when they ask the same thing multiple times after I’ve already given them my answer, so why should it be any different for the media? They should stop being lazy and do some research before going in and asking for info that’s already available.
