Skenes “best arm he has ever seen” (not pitcher)
Crews “no weakness. Surprised he signed out of high school”.
“We have to get a lot better to compete with this team.”

Is it possible Skenes and Crews could go down as the two most talented Tigers to ever come through this program?
Not talking most accomplished, because obviously Skenes only being here one year won’t have the multiple seasons to rack up numbers, but just strictly talent.

Huh
Can be taken 2 ways. Best arm regardless of position, or best arm on the mound but not necessarily the best pitcher. I would probably go with #2 without hearing the context

Aren’t you the one who said crews wasn’t as good as about 20 other LSU baseball players?

I think he’s the one who said Crews isn’t facing better pitching in the SEC than Walker did because Nolan Ryan could throw 127 mph or something

Crews has made a case (subjective argument) for the best position player but based on body of work there is no way I would put Skenes ahead of McDonald or Nola. Skenes could still turn out to have the best SINGLE SEASON but he is pitching in a different era than the other two.

Anyone that says "best arm" while referring to a pitcher is just using a different term. He was pretty much saying Skenes is the best pitcher he's seen

Ben was honestly known for one season. His second season was okay but he only started 14 games and was pretty terrible out of the pen. His record was 13-7. Like Skenes, he was just known for throwing hard. It was his third season that put him on the map and even then he was prone to giving up tons of runs (partially because he was left in too long). If Skenes tops Ben’s 3rd year, I have no problem saying he’s the goat on the mound. Even above Nola who was a much better pitcher than Ben.

He had a pretty good assessment, very legit coach IMO. Think he made a great assessment and threw everything into game one, hoping to find a hot hand in game 2-3, which didn’t work out. They lost their arguably 2 best pitchers to injury, but still finding a way to field a pretty good team that we will probably see again

Please go find that comment. Please go find that comment. You are out of your freaking idiot mind. I compared him to two people that are sitting on the wall. Saying that he was better overall than both of them because of his defensive skills. And oh, by the way, that was before the season when his batting average was less than both of them.

I haven’t gotten time to watch it. I was wrong then

I just don’t know if I can ever get on board with this. Nola was the closest to perfect pitcher I’ve ever seen. Sure it was the dead bat and ball era, but he had control like I’ve never seen before or since. And you knew going into every game he was going to give you 8 innings.

Except he distinctly made the point to differentiate the 2.
One could say Nolan Ryan was the best arm of. Anyone in MBL history. He never won a Cy Young. He wasn’t the best pitcher. If he pitched like he did the last few years of his career, he would have gone down as the best IMO.

He’s pitching in a better offensive era than both of those guys. These baseball are super juiced right now. Skenes is insane

The post you’re replying to specifically says

And the answer is yes

We saw the best arm/ good pitch comparison Friday night. Their starter shut us out, while Skenes gave up a run and was up for the loss until Neil hit that homer off the reliever in the eighth. I agree that Skenes has a beast of an arm, but sometimes a crafty pitcher can get it done without the physical talent. I think we all saw the difference …

Crews isn't making a case. He is ending all debates on it at this point.
