I think it benefits him tremendously because his attorneys can drag this out and make is a complete sham of a trial for a misdemeanor.

Regular folks will empathize with him for just how rigged our criminal justice system is because of deeply corrupt attorneys and judges.

It's bad for a former president to be indicted and then perp walked. It's worse that the influence peddling millionaire current president will skate. And it's good for the other GOP hopefuls because someone has to run and get the nomination.

So Fox is reporting it appears Trump will be indicted in NY State. Considering how long these things can be dragged out, Trump will probably not be convicted before the 2024 election, let alone the primaries. So he will be able to continue campaigning.

100% bad thing. It makes America look bad whether you love or hate Trump.

Good thing for Trump. He'll win the nomination. The Dems want him to be the nominee and know going after him increases the odds that he will be.

As far as the General Election, I don't think that dramatically increases his chances of winning. The 5.5 million voters who voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican in 2016 and 2020 but didn't vote for Trump probably still won't vote for him.

Also, are the Dems going to fail in keeping Green Party candidates off of the ballots in the midwest swing states? Jill Stein being on the ballot was why Trump won in 2016. He won MI/PA/WI by fewer than 78K votes combined. Jill Stein received over 132K votes in those states. Without those 3 states he would've been below 270 EV. In 2020 the Dems restricted Green Party access on the ballots in the midwest. In those 3 states Howie Hawkins (2020 GP nominee) received less than 15K combined votes in those states.

Trump won’t win a primary or general election, arrested or not. He’s a clown, just like anyone who thinks the 2020 election was rigged but somehow the 2016 election wasn’t. fricking weirdos.

It's not so much good/bad. It's a history lesson. What the Dems are doing is a major characteristic of every brutal authoritarian regime in history.
They do not win power by persuading the populace. They eliminate opponents BAMN.

Of course this is all predicated on secure and legitimate elections.
