This team has the worst coaching staff in the league and it got worse this offseason

Dennis Allen is the ring leader of incompetence.
He decided to upgrade our pathetic offense by...firing the TE coach. Yeah, that will work. Carr won't do shite with our conservative and terrible playcalling.
He then proceeded to fire one of our two best defensive coaches in Richard and Nielsen bails.
He replaces them with some washed up has beens.
fricking Todd Grantham? Seriously? The same dude most of this board made fun of for years?
And some failed Browns DC and another dude who wasn't even in the NFL last year.
I get optimism in the offseason but ya'll are in for a rude awakening.
This team is going no whwere with this staff.
Loomis deserves to be fired as well for mortgaging future years and not ripping it down to the studs for a total overhaul and rebuild.

This team has the worst, lowest IQ fanbase in the league

No one around here has great faith in the coaching staff but thanks anyway.

Calm down. Not one fan on here thinks we have a shot at the Super Bowl anytime soon.

Ok genius what’s your plan?

1. Fire Dennis Allen and replace with an up and coming offensive coach
2. Release/trade as many bloated contracts for older players as possible this year and the rest next year to finally get out of the cap kicking hell
3. Start a complete rebuild and search for the next top 10 QB. Hint: Carr is not it.
4. Stop trading up in the draft and begin accumulating picks.
Most importantly, accept that the window for winning anything of significance is long closed and act accordingly.
If your goal is to maybe sneak into the Wildcard to get blown out in the first round, I guess this strategy is ok.
If your goal is to contend, it's stupid.
Until you have a top coach and top QB, you're just in purgatory.
Some would rather win 7-9 games than go 2-15 and actually get a chance to find the next Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, etc.
Not me.

We had this discussion ad nauseum of which way the FO would go.
They chose to stay competitive and not rebuild ground up. Keep up.

But are they really going to be competitive? I personally, don't think so.
This D is not going to be as good next year.
Our two best players on D are ancient. Our third best is inconsistent as hell.
We have no real pass rushers.
Our offense...OMG what a shitshow. If you want to be competitive you had to fire Allen or at a minimum Pete.

This isn't true.
I don't fully agree with OP, either. I don't think we have the worst coaching staff. I do think it probably got worse, though.

We disagree. You think it's all gone to sh!t and I don't not yet. I wouldn't have chosen this path the FO has taken but here we are. Nothing I say will change your mind. Expectations are so low for next year maybe we can out perform them for once. Draft, UDFA and preseason are all ahead of us.

For a loser fan to call DA incompetent is just funny

I will agree with your plan if this year is a disaster.

The reality is playoff appearances help the HC & FO keep their jobs. Sure, they want to win SBs every year, but they also need to make the playoffs to keep their jobs. Historically, HCs have a 3 year window at any point. Miss the playoffs year 1 (check), reorganize your coaching staff (done) and find a "new QB" to roll with (Carr) if you don't already have an established guy. 2nd time you miss, the HC is officially on notice and this is when they get desperate with rookie QBs, 3 years in a row, HC is gone and now the pressure is on the FO.
This is speculation, but I always thought Payton was Loomis' savior. Loomis sort of inherited Haslett (he was int he FO, but wasn't GM when Haslett was hired), but Payton was his decision. Now that Payton is gone, Allen is his first major decision. Allen fails, he would traditionally get another shot before the FO is gutted. I saw traditionally, because I think he gets at least 2 more HC hires.
TL/DR: IMO, Allen has 2 more years. We're probably stuck with Loomis for 2 more HCs after Allen, unless the next hire hits a homerun

Someone can bump the Dennis Allen thread, but I did not want him. He was way down the list of coaches I woukd have hired. Just took one year for most of you to see the light.
That being said, if he doesn’t win a division that, (hard to imagine being possible but will be worse than last year), he will be fired.

I tend to slightly agree here. I hated losing Strief and Richard. I was torn on Nielsen. I think after Payton blocked him from being LSU’s DC, Nielsen lost some of his edge as a position coach and really wanted more DC responsibilities. I mean, when Payton first hired him in 2017, and from then until 2021, we got pretty good production from our DL and we didn’t always invest in it. In 2021 and 2022 there was a notable decline in how effective that unit was. Keep Grantham away from gameplanning and I think he adds some juice to that room in addition to needing a revamp along the depth charts for the DL.
I also think it was clear there was some dissent amongst DA, Richard and Nielsen. All 3 really great defensive minds, and we’ll miss that, but I don’t think they worked well together. I still have a ton of confidence in DA defensively even though I don’t have that confidence in his HC capabilities. But he has shown to surround himself with pretty damn good defensive talent as far as coaching staff and roster are concerned. He had a hand in bringing in both Nielsen, Richard and our other up and comer, Michael Hodges.

Hate to break this to you, but when healthy, Werner is probably our best defensive player.

We’re in the discussion for sure. But of course this board will downvote the shite out of this now then bitch about the staff all year coming up.

I also am of the opinion that Allen is an extremely overrated DC.
His defenses absolutely wilt at the worst times.
