Been so busy in life.. and been busy collecting too...
Just wanted to say 2023 is looking good. Don't have time to do a thread now but... This is a photo that I picked up....
Bomber Crew and Ship arriving in England after Flight overseas... The Airplane is unnamed with fresh OD green paint..
More to come... Thanks.

Stealth coatings make them invisible.

How large is your collection?

When I press and hold the blank where image is, I can see it! Weird
Let's see if I can post.
Collector, I think you might be accidentally selecting "copy link" instead of "copy post link"

We have reached Museum Status... and I need a bigger home to display it all... Currently I am working with 6 mannequin displays, as well as other large (what is the word I am looking for, for scenes or settings)... Plus as just one example, I think that I now have over 200 letters written home.. One day I will scan them all.
If you walking into this one room you would actually be walking back in time.
I am honestly considering finding an old Abandoned Train Station somewhere and trying to open something up.. But that really is a retirement project...

I can see it all the way back to the OP
Vignettes? The word you are looking for, maybe.

A very inspiring goal. Maybe you could do some crowdfunding to help? I know a lot of us here are interested in the things you've collected.

Speaking of B17’s, I watched 12 O’clock High last night.
Always reminds me of my Uncle Clovis, my mom’s only brother. He flew 35 missions with the 547th Bombardment Squadron / 384th Bombardment Group out of Grafton Underwood from July to December 1944.

Just finished listening to Masters Of The Air about the B17's in WW2. In 43 you had a higher survival rate in US subs than in the air over Europe.

Which is why, IIRC, in 1943, 25 missions and you were done.
Once we got air superiority, they upped the missions to 35 before you could rotate stateside.

Like a 1 in 5 chance of making 25 missions. Frost bite #1 for injuries that grounded you.

Yes.. I believe that will work.
Answering everybody here..
Turns out this is same exact photo used on the cover of the book "Masters of the Air" as mentioned before.
I thought that it was an original photo since I bought it from a dealer at a WWII Gunshow in Durant Ok. Well, I only paid $1.
I have a few more photos and some larger pieces to show when I get time to upload them.
I had to travel to a couple different states to pick up my last two large pieces..
Just need time as I just got home from traveling and working on out of town properties.
Oh.. as to the fundraiser.. I hope one day.. I saw an abandoned train station in a Kansas town which gave me the idea.. but right now work, life, properties keep me busy. Plus I am writing a WWII Screenplay which may need agent representation to sell, and I hope to start filming a trailer this summer. And I am working on branding and packaging my own spice...
But I honestly hope one day to have my own museum open to the public somewhere.
