I was a huge MT fan but he absolutely needs to be cut.

Why would anyone expect to get anything more out of him than we have gotten over the last two years. If we bring him back we are straight up dumb. He is holding us back. A wr with potential to be good or even great should be getting all of his reps. Why would we go into another season depending on him to be something that he has not been in years.

He seems pretty bought in and him and Carr seem to have a strong rapport. If he restructures his deal to be much cheaper and stay with Saints, why not?

I can't live on hope anymore with MT. At some point you have to accept that a player is who he has shown himself to be.

good thing you don’t make the decisions

If he restructures and has the right attitude.. it’s low risk and high reward

No one expects anything from him. Only thing I expect is a contract from the Saints that protects them from paying him for anymore injuries.
If he signs great. If not goodbye.

Thomas missed 1 in the first 64 games in his career. Pretty damned good for his physical style of play. Then the injury bug. That has been covered ad nauseum with no evidence that he was goldbricking just stupid decisions by him and the team.
Who on this roster or that is attainable for us has more potential than a physically cleared, rested(he has no wear and tear from the last two years) should be in their prime Michael Thomas.
If we can get him to sign on the dotted line for a reasonable, renegotiated show me what you've got contract we would be straight up dumb not to. Thomas has God given talent and should be hitting his prime and if he's healthy well worth the risk.

I mean, objectively speaking, you’re right. I’d no longer be investing in him myself but we need an alpha receiver. You absolutely cannot trot out Shaheed and Olave as your starters as neither of them are WR1s.

If he wants to come back on a 1 year prove it deal that has incentives for performance then I’m all for it. Giving him a lot of guaranteed money and I’ll pass.

Why do Saints fan hate Michael Thomas so much? I don’t get it.

What signs whatsoever point to him doing this?

because "He seems pretty bought in and him and Carr seem to have a strong rapport" only last a short time and when he doesnt start setting WR yards from the begining, he then takes the next 14 games off with a sore vagina again.
when a player proves themselves to be selfish and a vagina the way he has, you cant accept they will ever be anything else.
could he light it up with carr, maybe, is it worth the risk to keep him, hell no.
only way they should even entertain the idea to keep him, is if he restructures to league bare minimum pay, with no guaranteed money for anything

Um how about the fact that his agent and the Saints talked last week about doing just that?

I don't believe there is ANYTHING of a 'low risk' nature with M. Thomas...lol

We've been paying him tons of money to do a job. He should have been bought in regardless of the QB.

I don’t get the hate for MT. He is a fierce competitor who played hurt in the final year of DB9s career. He didn’t get the off-season surgery because he knew that he would have to miss the next season, so he tried the rehab it without it. SP shames him publicly because he didn’t get the surgery and he gets the surgery to miss the 21 season. He played great the first game of 22 and is hurt again.
He’s cost of us a lot being unavailable over the last couple years, but he was absolutely deserving of the contract when he signed it. I in no way get any sense that he’s lazy. He was set back by an unfortunate string of injuries that was started because he wanted to hold on to what was considered a possible Super Bowl team.
Underhill said he was the most competitive player he’s ever reported on, even over Brady. With his support of Carr, his mentoring olave and a reduced salary, I want him back.

I don't hate him, I just don't want him on the team. Let him be someone else's pipe dream.

He will be release. Another team will pay him or than Saints would.

It's about guaranteed money. That is where he will come up short until he has a MT all pro type year. Hell I would offer him today a 5 year 75 million contract. But maybe...maybe 5 mill guaranteed lol.
