Rule of thumb, always wait at least 24 hours for facts to come out before assuming what press or others report is true.

I would not be surprised to learn he wasn’t even home. That origjnal site who said he shot a kid will be sued out of business if he was out of town or not involved. They defacto said Joe shot a kid.

24 hours and the real story starts to surface as a rule

I’m not, just reporting what I found online. Every athlete that press pounces on is just for clicks and views not for accuracy. When wrong they never apologize afterwards, or they bury it deep.

Just like the Bama player, it seems the press is trying to cancel him and anytime press gangs up on anything my spider senses go up. We’ve lost our true reporting now its just who can get most clicks with outrageous stories. So we have to be aware of fake press more nowadays

I find it best to wait 24 hours. If Mixon broke the law and shot some kid for no legal reason then I say lock him up. If not will anyone who ragged on him apologize? Nope, they never do.

I have no idea what happened but we don’t even know if he was there yet. Lets see what happens in next day.

A common thread among all these occurences of black athletes brutalizing non-athletically-associated black people...

That commonality is eye brow etchings. Outlaw them ASAP and college athletes will stop beefing with non- athletes and racism will be defeated IMO

100% accurate on the neighborhood.

This is irrelevant. I don’t care how nice the neighborhood is running around with a gun (airsoft or not) in 2023 is incredibly dangerous.

If that is the case, I sympathize with mixon.

CINCINNATI -- Bengals running back Joe Mixon is not listed as a suspect in a shooting incident involving a residence listed as his home, according to police records.

On Thursday, Hamilton County released the incident report from the March 6 incident during which police allege a child was shot in the foot. Merlyn Shiverdecker, a Cincinnati-based defense attorney who is part of Mixon's representation, said the running back's counsel has had conversations with the Hamilton County prosecutor's office and expects the case to be resolved soon.

"It's my belief that this thing is probably going to be resolved by this time next week," Shiverdecker told ESPN on Thursday.

According to the incident report, children were playing "dart wars," a game that involves toy guns that shoot foam bullets. Witnesses told police the children were playing in the victim's backyard. Around 8:30 Monday evening, shots were fired from the backyard of the neighboring home, which police confirmed is tied to Mixon. An unidentified suspect fired 11 shots, with one of them hitting the injured child in the foot.

The initial report from Hamilton County officials indicated that the injuries were not life-threatening. On Thursday, officials stated that no charges have been filed. Two people were identified as suspects.

"There's a lot of potential problems that can come out of a situation where shots are fired," Shiverdecker told ESPN regarding Mixon's home being associated with the incident. "So obviously in our opinion, it was the prudent thing for Joe to get counsel to represent him in this thing, to advocate for him and also to protect his rights and interests."

The home in the Anderson Township area of greater Cincinnati is officially owned by a trust. However, it was listed by police as Mixon's residence when a warrant was issued last month on a charge of aggravated menacing. That case was dismissed one day after the warrant was filed, though, and Mixon was never arrested.

Mixon has spent all six seasons in the NFL with the Bengals and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021. Last season, he started 14 games and gained 1,255 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns. A Bengals spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.

In a statement, Hamilton County said investigators are continuing to review the evidence and conduct interviews.

Omly one getting sued is that Flo reporter who said Mixon was defacto the shooter:

UPDATE On the Nerf War shooting at Bengals player Joe Mixon's house:
The Hamilton county sheriffs office is now naming two suspects involved in the shooting. (We never release names until people are officially charged) But I can tell you NEITHER ONE of them is Joe Mixon.

Mixon is letting his entourage play with guns in his backyard in an affluent neighborhood with kids playing next door and you are defending him.
