[link=(It is with our deepest sympathy and sadness that we have to advise, that we lost our brother, friend, family member, songwriter and guitarist, Gary Rossington, today.
Gary is now with his Skynyrd brothers and family in heaven and playing it pretty, like he always does.

Please keep Dale, Mary, Annie and the entire Rossington family in your prayers and respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time.

Ole baw’s brain preceded him in death by about 15 years. RIP Gary.

The last rebel on the road.

Buddy and I went to a record store signing when the Last a Rebel album came out and he seemed like a nice guy who was still happy to have fans still coming out.

The solo from Freebird was, is, and always will be one of greatest examples of guitar playing ever. RIP

The day young Skynyrd died.
We'd show our southern pride.

Play it pretty, Gary.

Freebird Oakland 1977

One of the greatest videos of all time, and the guitar work by him and the others was flawlessly in sync.

The last original member. Those guys left their mark on rock history, and became legends.

“Tuesday’s Gone With the Wind”

Being the last survivor is overrated, I’ve heard from others.

Gary Rossington

Was he also the "Rossington" in Rossington-Collins band?

Damn, Rossington was a really cool and nice guy... Sucks..

All the old school rockers are dieing off...

The future will be stuck with the Justin Biebers and Lady Gagas of the world..

April 25, 2008 Lafayette Cajundome

The manager of Ticketmaster called me and asked if I wanted tickets for the concert that night. I said who and where? Skynyrd, front row. Oh hell yeah!

Hank Jr. opened for the band.

Skynyrd came out and Johnny Van Zant gave me a fist bump....Gary Rossington was right in front of us, feet away. Billy Powell was still on piano.

When they played That Smell...whiskey bottle, brand new car, oak tree you're in the way....I pointed at Gary (who had crashed his car) and he gave me a head nod.

I have some great pictures, but am inept with picture posting on this sight.

I have seen plenty of concerts, but this was the first when Freebird was requested and the band delivered.

Edit: Gary threw me his guitar pick and I still have it....
