Are bald eagles still endangered?

Not even close. In fact, I read an argument that they are becoming overpopulated.

Bears and allegators definitely don't need as much protection anymore in my area. They are everywhere around here.

Eagle sightings are somewhat rare, but definitely more common than they used to be. There's a neighborhood facebook thread going on in my area in Louisiana because an eagle has been seen tearing up a duck in someone's yard. I finally saw the thing flying around yesterday while I was doing yard work. Academically I know it's a massive bird, but its size really does still surprise you when you see it flying 100' overhead.

Dumb question....should I be worried about my toddler playing in the yard knowing that thing is around?

They should let us hunt them, it’s the only way to preserve them!

If it was eaten, it probably tastes pretty crappy.
A predatory bird that eats mainly fish, isn't going to be very tasty.

Just saw a picture of their weapons. They used a Crossman F4 17 caliber air rifle to harvest their supper.
