intuition says COVID causes some sort of lasting heart issue but I can’t escape the feeling that obesity and unhealthy lifestyles has skyrocketed dramatically in the last three years which isn’t going to help cardiovascular issues

I wonder if there is a variance between population densities. I can't imagine large urban zones had ways to get out into nature and go hiking, camping, and fishing like less populated areas. I think substance abuse and poor eating is probably similar, but it would be interesting to see if there are other variables to look at.

There are going to be a million case studies due to this fricking pandemic.

Analyzes everything except the elephant in the room. Impressive.

c19 has a short term effect but not discussed is LONG c19, which in your body can attack varied organs over time. Unlike many virus, that only attack a specific organ, this seems to vary by person. In on person it may go for the lungs and in another it may go for the heart. If you have had any form of the virus you may be harboring a long term time bomb.

Even if young be sure to get a thorough physical exam at least once a year to be safe. This is in the same family as the Spanish Flu and they are now finding a large global die off after about 10 years after folks were diagnosed with Spanish Flu and survived.

FWIW, many since c19 started have been diagnosed with pneumonia or COPD or BOOP, but it may be masking heart issues. If you experience any of these symptoms take the extra step and have your heart checked as if caught early the damage will be lessened.

How dare you bring critical thinking and common sense to the OT.

I don't know of a single person who altered their lifestyle to a great degree during the Chinese Flu farce. Trying to blame increased heart attacks on increased obesity is stretching it - or purposely avoiding admitting what you know is the real cause.

I agree with you Ross. I had covid 2 times and the 1st time took it's toll on me. I was 330 lbs standing 6'3" and was in decent shape but grossly over weight. I had double pneumonia and my heart rate stayed betweeen 90 bpm and 110 for about 2 months. After my second covid was less severe because of immunity, I decided to lose weight and stop drinking. I'm down to 277 lbs and my blood lab work is all normal. I had people, some in my family, beg me to get the vaccine before my first bout with Covid but I refused. When I got got covid, they said "man I wish you would have gotten vaccinated." Watching my diet and not drinking along with lots of exercise and relying on my Jesus have cured me. I was lucky and I feel very blessed.
What toll was it on my heart and lungs? Only God knows. What toll did it have on my mind? A huge toll because I'm not afraid to die now and am at peace. Thank you Jesus for giving me the strength to change!
