The idea that Texas doesn’t have significant political corruption is hilarious.

I will support you for insurance commissioner when I'm running the joint. You'll have the nicest cell in the prison

They ought to have an "Insurance Commissioner's Suite" where they can all stay and compare notes!

First we need to learn how to post on the correct board

Corrupt S La politicians have screwed Louisiana for generations. That’s not changing.

La is a lost cause. Terrible schools, health, economic/political environment. There's no number of Bucees that can fix it.
Not really, just start with a new constitution that decentralizes local government funding away from Baton Rouge. Limit state authority to large regional infrastructure projects. Create road districts that can levee local taxes or tolls to build regional projects. Switch funding mechanisms on post secondary education to tuition supported institutions instead of sucking on the government teet for secondary funding in addition to tuition funding. Eliminate state income tax. Allow local property taxes to fully fund education and local control.
There are more, but we could just Xerox a copy of the Texas Constitution and use that as a model and add in some items to cover Louisiana only things like gaming.

It’s way past saving. I want to see what it looks like when it fails.

No. Legislature, Governors, LABI, BRAF, etc all depend on things staying how they are. Gatekeeping economic development is very lucrative.

Texas has tons of corruption too bro, they just have more of everything
Posted on 2/18/23 at 8:49 pm to White Roach
Louisiana is like Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas. All have an entrenched good ol boy political network that is hard to break and voters seem to be ok with it. It leads to shitty leadership

The obsession with this is pathetic. Life is short. Enjoy your blessings and be grateful you don’t live in Bosnia.
