Usually for me, it's a class I registered for but meant to drop / didn't attend and suddenly realize I didn't successfully drop when final exams are approaching. It's now past the drop date and I'm going to be stuck with a failing grade.

I’ve always had this dream, since the 80s. I screwed up the drop date and on the day of the exam realized I did not drop it and have to take a final for a class I haven’t been to. Less now , but still a few times a year. It has to be the among most frequent dreams people have .

I'm older and still dream about sitting down and taking a test I am 85% unprepared for. Why can't I dream about the great fishing and hunting trips I've been on?

Are these only associated with college folk? What do electricians, plumbers, truck drivers or Dillard's sales persons dream about?

Yep. At least once a month. I graduated from LSU 20 years ago this summer.

My variation is that I somehow forgot the class on my schedule and missed the drop date…graduated in 2003

Mine is the one where I’m sitting in class and it’s the final exam and I haven’t been all year and have no clue wtf is going on.

Have had it off and on for the last 33 years. Usually once or twice a year...

Thanks for fricking bringing it up and planting the seed....I guess another one will show up soon

Graduated late 90s FFS, and still occasionally have the one where you’re close to semester ending and have a class you’ve been ditching and have no idea what’s going on, also mixed with some element of needing the class to graduate and maybe won’t or something.

I’m 42. About a month ago I had the one where I fricked off for the first test and then didn’t drop the class quick enough because I forgot it was on my schedule. I ended up getting stuck with the grade

I had no idea they were so common.

College is the first place where many of us live with some autonomy and some real responsibility. It was fun but it was daunting at times for most people.

So stress and anxiety in the present might cause you to dream about a setting where you were worried about missing something.

College algebra at 42 isn’t for everyone. And I’m everyone. And I’m not enjoying it.

It's an anxiety dream. I guess so many have the same/similar scenario because for a significant period in many of our lives the most stress/pressure we faced was succeeding in school.

I graduated college in 1990. Last week, I had a dream that it has taken me 7 years to graduate college but I haven’t shown up to class all semester and if I don’t pass my classes I will fail and my aunt and uncle will disassociate with me.

Or the semester has began but I don’t know when my classes start or what building the classes are in.

Or I have a meteorology class with Dr. Meisner, but I haven’t been to class for the first week and I am way behind on my lab report.
