Should 5.7x28 be more popular?

Less recoil, can fit more rounds in a magazine, and has better penetration.

The main con I can see is that the ammo is more expensive and the P90 magazines aren't meant for reloading. If more people used the 5.7 on a consistent basis, wouldn't it get cheaper with economies of scale?

The P90 is badass, though.

5.7 is kind of a wonder cartridge.

Pistol size but rifle ballistics.

Sadly, the only people you can afford and actually use 5.7 a lot are cartels because of how they defeat soft body armor that many police use in Mexico.

Hmm. I didn't know that. I could see where that would be annoying for recreational use.

I love mine. Fun as hell to shoot but ammo is expensive. It is loud but still fun

After 380/9mm level loud, it's all just equally really fricking loud. Can't be anywhere near as bad as a 357 revolver.

Ammo is too expensive and the guns are too expensive.

That thing is too tiny for me to comfortably use I believe. LoP is miniscule.

I've always wanted one along with an FN pistol to go with it. The real deal, not the SP90 version. Was cool seeing it as the main weapon of choice throughout the SG-1 series.

If the ammo wasn’t so expensive it is a fun round. The new Smith and Wesson pistol is gas operated and should even have less recoil. Waiting to see how they do once they get used in the field. If they hold up it could be fun to play with.

SBR it and get a Gen 1 trigger pack. The Gen 1 trigger is easily made into fun trigger.

I think it’s getting more popular as more manufacturers are making it. FNH, Ruger, Smith and Wesson, PSA, Kel-Tec, and CMMG and Excel in an AR type platform.

Maybe a 22LR version of the PS90 is in order.

Damn, did not know they'd done this until I read your post. That is a pretty crazy-looking gun. I've always liked the PMR-30.. that P50 takes it to a whole new level.

They are fun to shoot and a great gun to just have. I haven't shot the SW but shot the FN and Ruger and I really like the Ruger.

I'd expect a lot more companies jumping in the game on making them, and more ammo options in the next year or so, just my .02 cents. Academy is having a Presidents sale on the Ruger I believe tomorrow only.
