Seems like the type of thing FEMA should be involved with.

Has the Governor of Ohio made an official disaster declaration and officially requested help from the Federal govt??

I don't know if he/she has, but that's how it actually works.

And if he/she requested federal assistance and was turned down I'm fairly sure you'd hear him/her bitching loud and clear??

He has not

Perhaps most odd is the fact that DeWine has declined the president's offer to declare East Palestine a federal disaster area, which would enable FEMA to get on the ground there, and it also would give Ohio access of several kinds of other federal relief programs.

Why doesn't Mike DeWine want to help his state's citizens?

Because if FEMA comes there would probably be FOIA requests for testing information and they would have to release data on what actually is going on and the Gov doesn't want that because it would show that he knowingly poisoned his own citizens by sending them back into their homes after a WWI chemical attack hit their bomb.

By using "private contractors" to examine their areas, he can avoid that.

I heard the news say that Biden has said HE MAY take questions or make a statement about the balloons.

He doesn't GAF about East Palestine Ohio not enough Biden voters there.

And BTW if you referred to it as Palestine locally people would look at you funny. It is East Palestine.

"The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time," DeWine's office said in a statement earlier in the day. "Governor DeWine will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided."

Governor says he's requested FEMA assistance daily and been denied.

Someone is lying.
