I don’t think that is accurate. There was just a very loud minority that amplified their hopes and dreams.

It'll be harsh but DeSantis will get the nod. I just hope Trump doesn't burn the house down.

Possibly, but if DeSantis wants to win the Presidency, he will have to appeal to Trump's base. Barring Trump winning the nomination,WHOEVER the nominee turns out to be, he/she will have to make an appeal to Trump's base to beat the Dems.
That person will have to support border security, energy independence, America first economic policy, de-weaponizing the alphabet agencies, states' right, etc. If this doesn't happen, Trump voters will stay at home.

I find it hilarious and hypocritical when Never Trumpers try to lecture Trump supporters about the importance of beating the Dems, when these Never Trumpers always line up to support the same big government, big Pharma, MIC, big Tech policies as the Dems.

Let's just assume there's anything to all the bullshite you're throwing around and that DeSantis wouldn't win Arizona and Georgia easily.

Why should we go with the proven loser instead?

That’s the problem with Republicans. If “their” candidate doesn’t get the nod, they either don’t vote or vote for the other guy. Democrats vote lock step with whoever the candidate is. They could run Satan on the ticket and he would get 99% of the dem vote.

This needs to be said more and more. If you're only Trump or only Desantis voter, you need to reflect and realize that you are a problem. If it doesn't go your way and you follow through with your plan, it means that you are okay with Biden/dems/libs in charge and running things into the ground. You can claim all day that you don't want that, but your words don't mean shite compared to your actions.

True but its equally true that for Trump to win, he will have to appeal to the traditional GOP voter, the more establishment types, RINOS, Independents, and traditional Blue Dog Democrat types.

DeSantis can appeal to the MAGA wing because he does MAGA things and has proven to be more conservative than Trump. Trump on the other hand has proven nothing in his ability to attract anyone not from his hard core base. Beyond the cult of personality that makes up his base, he has basically alienated everyone else at this point. It may get him over the hump in the primary but it's not a winning ticket to recapture the Presidency. Unless he course corrects, he will lose again. The midterms were a harbinger effect and I see nothing from Trump that tells me he has learned anything. In fact he has regressed and continues to alienate those who might otherwise support his agenda.

There sure are a lot of nervous DeSantis Fan Boys on here.

When Trump is the nominee don't vote for him in the general.

correct.
however he does not need to get more votes. he only needs to claim he "really" won.
he very recently asked to be installed based on his vague grievances. "i wuz robbed.".
so he can still appeal to the "mob".
thats not going away.

They won't vote for Trump, just like Paul Ryan, and Jeb Bush and pals.

Yet they will scream bloody murder if Trump supporters won't vote for Desantis or if Trump runs third party in a few states.

All of the above is why it makes no sense for Desantis to run in 2024.

Winning the nomination of what will be a deeply divided Republican Party is not winning.

You mean Don? He was in the Trump administration after all. Also, Trump was unhinged in his first term. We all just ignored it because of the alternative. Now we have the alternative and its time to move on.

There's a difference between nervous and pissed off that a segment of voters in the Republican primaries are hellbent at giving Dems full control

I have to be honest, I don't understand why DeSantis would leave Florida to run a shite hole in DC.

I understand Trumps motives but, DeSantis, not so much.

Everybody has a price and, if met, they'll play.

As far as these people in the camp who think Trump wants something or will burn it down, fine, burn this motherfricker down. It's better than the path we are on.

The US government is to big, powerful and frankly, thinks a lot of it's self, very self-absorbed.

Whom ever wins the nominee will get my vote, I may not like it but, I'll walk on broken glass to do it.

To change it won't be easy, can't just start and end with a bump in the night where you open your eyes and hear nothing else and go back to sleep.

It needs to hurt.

He did say that if he lost to Biden we’d never see him again. Of course, he lied about that. It was rigged only if he didn’t win.

Nothing i posted was wrong. Im sorry if you dont like facts. Don is batting .500 if you believe the 2020 results which only the most ardent of don haters truly believe that. And those ppl should never be taken serious. But .500 isnt a losing record. Rons endorsements were beaten badly in the midterms which further proves hes a #2 at best right now. Not only would he not win AZ, GA, but WI, PA, NV just like don. So there is no chance for a W. So why waste a run when its a for sure loss?
