Lynyrd Skynyrd

Ted Nugent

I’ve seen a bunch of live music, but as far as legends go, that’s about it.

I know that the Tedeschi-Trucks Band is not legendary, but Derek Trucks is arguably the greatest slide guitarist I've ever heard, maybe even better than his idol, Dwayne Allman.

I saw the Tedeschi-Trucks Band before they were official. They opened for Buddy Guy and B.B. King. Was a free ticket, too.

I’ll probably forget some but I’ll have a go. I’ll err on the side of inclusion. (And hell yes, Elton John is a legend!)

Paul McCartney
Ringo Starr
Grateful Dead (+ a bunch of side/solo projects)
Jefferson Airplane
Hot Tuna
King Crimson
Adrian Belew/The Bears
Pink Floyd, also Roger Waters
Yes
Jethro Tull
Traffic
Steely Dan
Roy Harper
Paul Simon
Bob Dylan
Elton John
Billy Joel
Sting
Rush
The Guess Who
Santana
David Byrne
Allman Brothers, also Dickey Betts solo
Buddy Guy
Prince
Journey
Styx
REO Speedwagon
Def Leppard
Peter Gabriel
Morphine
Crowded House
Radiohead
Tool
George Clinton/Funkadelic
Little Feat (not with Lowell George)
The Tubes
Savoy Brown
Dick Dale
Dave Matthews Band (Does he count?)

Legendary jazz fusion: Weather Report

Phish/Oysterhead
Gov’t Mule (with Woody and without)
Primus/Frog Brigade/Bucket of Bernie Brains
MMW

You might not think they’re legendary but I do: KVHW

If I’m going to list Gov’t Mule then I should probably also list Galactic, moe., and String Cheese Incident. They all toured together and all played with Phil Lesh and Friends (or at least some members of each did) in the summer of ‘99.

If I’m going to list them then I should also list Greyboy Allstars/Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe/Robert Walter’s 20th Congress

If I’m going to list them then I suppose I also have to list Widespread Panic.

We are getting old. Does Pearl Jam count?

I know Clapton does. My true answer would be Eric Clapton. Last year at Toyota Center.

Yes

For me:
Santana
Aerosmith
Bon Jovi
Neil Young

and basically any 90s act that rises to the level of "legend"

I’m not sure anybody else I’ve seen belongs in the legend category. I’ve seen Queen without Freddie but I’m not so sure Brian May and Roger Taylor qualify. Same with Alice Cooper and certainly not KISS. Borderline is Elton John and Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac. The rest of the bands/individuals aren't legends IMO.

KISS with the original 4 especially if you caught them in the 70's would be included as legends.
