Is the Tiger Brass Band in the PMAC a longstanding tradition for LSU basketball?

I love the LSU band. But does the brass band really need to be in the PMAC? All they do is play over the PA system and blare Tiger Rag over and over. LSU needs to get a DJ like every other basketball program in America. (Better than the old one they had a few years ago)

It’s a freaking basketball ball arena and basketball game not a damn dance club. What is wrong with tiger rag and pregame and the lsu songs? You want to hear that damn rap and hip hop shite go to New Orleans and go watch the pelicans lose another game

I don't watch as much college basketball as I once did (outside of the tournament) but don't most schools have a band at the games?

I actually wish the band for bball games was bigger. They were bigger in the 80s and 90s and sounded much better and were a big part in getting the crowd into it.
Also, for the past few years it sounds like their is a bad trombone or something that plays off key notes before the T-I-G-E-R-S. It sounds ridiculous.
Unfortunately you can add the Bengal Brass Basketball Band to the list of things that gets neglected in the basketball program. From the band, to promotions, to concessions, to even making sure the stands are pulled out correctly it seems most everything associated with basketball is done half assed and has been for a long time.
