Any feedback on this one? Thinking about rolling out of ATG after my race and starting something different.

I’ve run it twice! And plan on doing it again in March this year! It’s a good program.

Good for building strength and athleticism, it reminds me a lot of football workouts. You do snatch, hang clean’, and power cleans twice a week. Two sprint sessions a week. Lots of jumping. Nice balance in the strength workouts.

As mentioned, very good athletic program especially for developing speed and power. Less max strength based than some of his other programs

It’s a really good program overall if speed is your main focus. Think track speed program

He also has the football 1&2 that are similar and then he just came out with sports strength program

Would you run it if you’re not very flexible?

Played some pickup basketball yesterday and died after 2 games. Gotta fix this.

I would prolly run a 3 day program and play basketball to get in shape if that’s what is important to you

This is more of a performance based, sprint speed

Understand that you have been running ppsa programs based on your goals at the time. If basketball conditioning is the priority now then you will have to train more towards that.

Of the program he has, the sport strength prolly the best for that cause it has conditioning and speed work built in plus strength.

My goal isn’t to play basketball frequently. Just not be so out of shape that 2-3 games gasses me.

Thought maybe some sprint work or conditioning would help. And I like PPSA so I want to stick with their programs.

Gotcha. I’ll take a look. Thanks.

I mean 2-3 games should gas you lol

But you could do any 3 day program and add some sprints on 2 off days

Love this program. Completed it twice in last 2 years. The weight portion of the program is my favorite of the PPSA.

I use it as the base to the workout I’ve made that works the best for me to stay strong and keep weight off. I’ve just replaced sprints at the beginning with air bike and rower sprints and added a rotation of the 5 grip workouts from elbow meat to the end.

This looks to have a lot of lifts in it that I've never done before. Should I worry about that or YOLO?

Once you get over the intimidation factor those are my favorite. Google them and start light with great form. I haven’t done a lot of the ones in that program either.

YOLO

Just watch some videos and start light! I assume you are talking about the snatch and cleans?

Can’t learn if you don’t ever try, just start light, very light. Film it and compare to YouTube videos.

Guessing the first week will just be the bar. I'm old and never really 'lifted' before. Certainly nothing like what's in the plan.

That's what I'd do if you havn't been lifting. Once you get the form down properly it will get easier and you can start building the weight. Those kind of movements take practice to get right.

I had to humble myself on snatches. I went down to a technique bar, either my shoulder mobility is bad or it's my ankle mobility because when the bar is overhead I feel like my arms are way out in front. It's very difficult for me to do an overhead squat at this point.

Probably both. Thoracic mobility too

Ordered it today. I'll be asking a bunch of questions in the next couple of weeks when I start this.
