Love the voice acting for Wayne, Era 2 really opens up the Cosmere more as well

I'll eventually get to it, but probably will hold out a bit longer.

I'll probably get through Yumi first. I really like the Kickstarter cover, so want to add it to my collection

Highly recommend the audio book versions of era 2. It really gives the character, Wayne, such depth.

Absolutely! I did the Alloy of Law a couple of weeks back, and it was great. I really dig the western noir vibe of it, but the narration is spectacular. Michael Kramer has become my favorite narrator of all audiobooks. He does the Whell of Time series as well as the Felix Castor ones. I plan to find others he has done as well once I'm ready to tackle new series.

I currently am rotating between Mistborn Era 2, Red Rising and 3 Body. I'm currently on book 2 of RR, and then MB will follow. I am liking doing it this way for it keeps everything fresh. I've been ripping through one series at at time, and it was starting to get stale doing it that way.

Tim Gerard Reynolds is a damn good listen, if they ever make this into a series I will be heart broken if Darrow doesn’t sound like Reynolds

Era 2 good

It’s better than era 1 in many many ways. Some of it is because of how much Sanderson grew as a writer between each era but absolutely read it.

Agreed. Maybe it’s the Irish accent he uses with the RR series, but he reminds me a lot of the narrator for the Witcher, Peter Kenney. PK is a freaking gem. If you haven’t listened to his Witcher read, you must give it a shot. He’s up there with Kramer and is better in many ways.

shite I also need to give credit to Roy Dotrice for what he did with ASOIAF. That’s probably the best narrated series in existence. The number of voices he effectively acts out is astonishing. It’s been a while since I’ve ripped through these, so I forgot about him. Yeah he’s probably my favorite overall.

Looks like Brandon is making serious headway with Stormlight 5. 75% done as of this morning, which means he is definitely on pace for a 2024 release.

He's probably going to try have the release coincide with the big convention his company puts on. I think it's in November.

The end of Shadows is brutal for Wax. The more we get into the Cosmere the less I am a fan of Sazed or Kelsier. I was never really a fan of either of their’s but I like them less and less as the books evolve. I love that Sanderson often writes characters even protagonists you don’t like or that aren’t boy scouts and is never afraid to kill a character or turn one. It makes his books interesting.

It's why I'm afraid to like Vasher/Zahel. I really like him in both Warbreaker and Stormlight. But he's got that Kel feel to him that I'm sure he'll do some stuff I really end up hating.

Just finished The Lost Metal.

What an absolutely amazing Sanderlanche

MAJOR LOST METAL SPOILER:

The entire few moments from when Wayne threw Wax off the ship, talked with Harmony, and then sacrificed himself might be my favorite moment in the Cosmere so far. What a perfect blend and peak and payoff of character development and plot and everything.

Rusting Wayne. Had to go and blow himself up.

I’m really gonna miss him.

Last thoughts: Marasi turning down the offer was fantastic. I hate the Ghostbloods and Kel (they’re great characters, I mean hate as in I don’t like them not as in they’re not well written). Twinsoul is cool though.

My top 3 favorite people in the Cosmere right now are Marsh, Adolin, and Vasher.

Hopefully wax gets to worldhop. It would be interesting to see Wax and Adolin fighting the Malwish and the Fused.

I would have loved a Wayne and Hoid world hopping story. All kinds of shenanigans ensuing and Wayne trying to figure out accents from other planets.

We'll have to see. If he finishes this year, then I'll definitely agree with you. His edit and revision process for a stormlight book is at least 6-8 months.
