Was NPR ever a legit news organization?

Was, is and always will be worse than Washington Post or NY Times

I’ve listened to npr since the mid 90s.

It was always a left Democrat Party outfit but in long years past there was at least a semblance of effort to be reasonable.

It took a big lurch to the left during the Obama years.

It went so far left over the past few years that it’s completely fallen off the edge into Kookville.

Every day now it’s Marxist ideology, race baiting divisiveness, Democrat Party talking points, and damage control cleanup of anything that could weaken the official process/narrative.

I remember when it was referred to as "Radio Managua" because of their support for the leftist Sandinista regime of Daniel Ortega.

I think that there were some decent radio shows, specifically “a prairie home companion,” that Garrison Keillor hosted and produced which were quality productions that didn’t force political opinion onto their audience.

It always had a left wing bent, like all the media. And like all media it’s gotten worse in the last 15 years.

What NPR excelled at was shows like Science Friday, the trivia show, National Geographic Radio Expeditions, American Roots, Radio Lab and arts coverage. Even something like This American Life wasn’t as over too lefty as it is now.

I think what hastened the shift was when local stations like WWNO dropped the classical and jazz music and went all national talk. Too many of the same voices saying the same things.

This was a big step in it’s decline.

It definitely slings left but they have some good programs on there, not talking about the news. I dunno if they ever didn’t slant left leaning or not though
