Haas is tweeting that FP2 is being delayed by at least another 15 minutes.

Edit: Nope, it's worse, FP2 will now start at 2:30 am local time.

I think they said it will be 90 minutes, ending at 4:00 am. Isn't that when parts of the track re-open to the public or something?

To add insult to injury, Sainz will still get the penalty for the unscheduled change of the "Energy Store."

There was enough time between the two practices that Ferrari was able to repair that catastrophic damage to Sainz car too…

Is FP2 being televised on any of the ESPN channels?

ETA: got it, it’s on regular ESPN.

I’d be pissed if I bought tickets for day 1… you get 10 min of FP1 then 7hr delay until FP2.

Can bet your arse I’d be on phone with CC disputing that charge since F1 won’t take care of people.

Don’t see any way there aren’t multiple red flags during the race or quali.

looking back to that weekend in 2005… it started in a similarly ominous fashion with Ralph Schumachers massive shunt coming off the oval turn 1 in friday practice

As a F1 purist since 2020, please remove Vegas and Miami from the calendar.

Ferrari is also replacing engine components so I’m assuming it was ruled the damage sustained didn’t have any effect on the replacement components. Just a guess.

Agree and the stewards say they wouldn’t if not for the FIA rules that say stewards cannot disregard.

I guess in a way that’s a good thing as you don’t get rouge agents aka “no Mikey no” but it’s still bullshite.

FIA has never stepped in to rectify that. Not sure if the wording of a new rule would cause problems or the teams don't want it.

Seems like Australia 2017 or so a Haas car, maybe RoGro, was taken out by a welded grate on the apex. Could have been really ugly.

In the drivers meetings, which were aired at that time, other drivers asked if F1 was going to compensate the team because it was their fault. Charlie just kindof mumbled it off.

Mikey would have at least kept FP1 continue on by just placing an orange cone over the man hole.

Those a-holes still owe me 15 minutes of additional coverage from FP1.
