Chinonye Chukwu, director of Till, is reacting to the Oscar snub after her film was not nominated at the Academy Awards.
In addition, Danielle Deadwyle was left out of the Best Actress nominations for her portrayal of Mamie Till-Mobley, the activist looking for justice after the murder of her son Emmett Till.
“We live in a world and work in industries that are so aggressively committed to upholding whiteness and perpetuating an unabashed misogyny towards Black women,” Chukwu posted on Instagram.
She continued, “And alas. I am forever in gratitude for the greatest lesson of my life – regardless of any challenges or obstacles, I will always have the power to cultivate my own joy, and it is this joy that will continue to be one of my greatest forms of resistance.”

fricking FINALLY. Instead of being so fricking worried about what wypipo think about you, this is the better option, no? You are NOT oppressed by anyone other than yourself in this day and age in Merica. Maybe, your movie wasn't that good? The acting was lacking? Good story, sure, but whose assumption was it that it would be a shoe-in for an Oscar nomination?

Can't be that her "project" wasn't any good. Had to be racism.

So, alas, this woman knows drama. She's unhappy she has to be grateful?

Guess I made the list again, calling out a black female is totally taboo in this universe.

If the Emmett Till story was a horse, that old nag would have been beat to a fine powder by now. And this director wanted to reanimate the corpse of that horse with cellophane and paste and she thinks it’s Secretariat.

You better find your own joy because I am not responsible for it.
If a movie is good, I watch it. I don’t check to see what color or gender the director is, nor do I care what color or gender the actors are.
This false story after story of systemic racism is getting tiresome and over played. The only racism perpetually being shown, is people like her towards white people.

resistance to every governmental entity and fortune 500 company bending over backwards to hire unqualified black employees. resistance to open white hatred on every major news network. resistance to Harvard and UNC forcing asian americans to have a perfect score on entrance exams to even have a fricking prayer of getting in
too many conversations have been started. it’s time to finish some of them

Who even watches the Oscars anymore it's just pretentious assholes who like the smell of their own farts telling you what a terrible person you are and shoving their woke propaganda on you.

The big question? Will she be kicked off a passenger plane in the next week?
Black women seem to come in two varieties, the kind that are sweet as sugar and the kind that brats with a chip on their shoulder.

Emmitt Till was supposed to be the Golden Ticket.
Nominations? Psssh. Her picture should’ve swept the Oscars by default. Just fork ‘em over now.
Trust me…she’d be screaming just as loudly like a stuck pig if they’d nominated her and someone else won.

It's called "misogoracism".

I heard the movie absolutely sucks.

The woke Oscars still holding her back.

This country is seeing the result of "everybody gets a prize" mentality. It's only going to get worse

Never even heard of the movie
But to be fair I'm not an avid movie watcher

I'm tired of movies about the 40s and 50s that revolve around discrimination of black people. As much as I'm tired of movies revolving around the slavery era.
Wasn't Till a movie that lost money?
