It’s a complete joke league wide how bad we got fleeced in that deal. I get he had to go because of how he was acting but damn we just gave away a guy that is looking like a top 5 nickel in the league. The Saints have failed miserably in everything they have done since Payton left. That isn’t a coincidence. Yeah he has a huge ego but he demanded results and took charge of the team. Now we are a runaway train to the Ditka era Saints.

I love CJGJ.

But he's about to get PAID for not even being the 5th best defensive player on his team.

There's 4 pass rushers with 11+ sacks
There's 2 corners that legitimately were/are #1 CBs

He's doing his job, but to think he's elite is absurd. That entire defense is fine without him.

We on the other hand, needed continuity in the DB room, and trading him was stupid. We honestly should have thrown him back at safety, signed TM, and gave it a go.

If Coach Mike Ditka and Hurricane Hugo were to get into a fight, which one would you bet on to win?

He was the missing piece in the Eagles secondary and has made their D elite.

The Saints are indeed stupid for giving him away.

If we allowed him.to stay and be a disruption we might have lost 10 games.

Agree. I wish we'd just let him walk in free agency after this season. Then we would have gotten a 3rd instead of a 5th.

Let's not forget, Boston Scott lit up the preseason, and got picked off the practice squad so we could save JT fricking Gray. We don't score touchdowns any more, so hopefully he can add to his 49 career tackle total on punt coverage.

Oh, and Mike Gillislee, TYFYS. Embarrassing.

Dude was causing major problems. Saints weren't going to pay him what he wanted. He was gonna be gone anyway. Despite what the great GMs on this board though he should have gone for, Saints weren't getting much in return. He had ego problems, he wanted a huge payday, and he was on the last year of his contract. No one is gonna give up anything substantial in this situation.

Uh, who was the head coach at the time Boston Scott got plucked off practice squad?

You can fairly crush Loomis and Allen for player personnel mistakes after January 2022. But Sean Payton had more personnel say than any other head coach in the league not named Belichick, Reid or Carroll.

Think every single person on this board said we got bent over. We should have just hung on to him. Having Harris and Evans trying to play his spot cost us some games.

It was stupid giving his money to honey Badger. That was the mistake.

We need a complete top to bottom house cleaning and start over. The Payton-Brees era is done and hurried, time to move on. Luckily you do have a few young pieces to be the cornerstone to the rebuild. The DL needs to be rebuilt as well as LG, WR1 and RB2. Of course QB1 is the first priority but I doubt we get that guy this year unless they take Hooker with our 2nd. I think he can be a good NFL starter but he might need to sit a year because of his knee injury before he’s ready.

Lol. This was actually one of their better decisions. RB’s like Scott are dime a dozen. Gray is a two time all pro. Scott has been ok, but he’s nothing more than a #3 at best.

he can play multiple positions in that secondary.

The Eagles can bring serious heat with their down-linemen that's why their defense is so good.

Bad example...JT Gray is better at his job than Boston is at his.

There are people on this board who still don't realize how bad of a decision that was.

It sucked.

I wasn't for it, but this is like the 1,043th thread on this topic.

So unless another 5 threads on the topic unlocks a 4th round pick or better let's fricking move on

I’m a person that likes healthy debate. Political, religious etc.

I was in shock that so many people in this board didn’t understand how horrific this trade was.

Like SHOCKED.

& amazed that so many people didn’t understand that what team you send a player to is relevant. It’s not equal - Texans would have been a different story.

I stupidly was ok w the Dennis Allen hire. The minute this trade happened - I knew he was the wrong guy.
