I googled it and this is what I found.

The Shroud of Turin, also known as the Holy Shroud, is a length of linen cloth bearing the negative image of a man. Some describe the image as depicting Jesus of Nazareth and believe the fabric is the burial shroud in which he was wrapped after crucifixion.

I believe they determined it was from the Middle Ages on a 20/20 special over 30 years ago.

To everything,
Turin, turin, turin,
There is a season,
Turin, turin, turin,
And a time to every porpoise

LINK

The piece of the shroud carbon dated back then was actually a repair in the middle ages. They did a very extended research on it later and determined that it was in fact from the first century.

The blood on the shroud showed it was from someone that was in shock.

If it is a fake, whoever did it was a genius.

This is wrong. They did some carbon 14 dating of sections of the cloth, but they took a section from a patch work from the middle ages after a fire. That is more than likely why they came up with those dates. The problem is there are pollen and other evidence that refutes that Carbon 14 dating. If it is a fake it is the best fake in the history of man. I do not know what it is, but it does not seem to have been made in the middle ages.
