My lord. Idk when linebacker day is, but I know it’s coming. Staff is obviously very good at this game.

Kelly and this staff have done some fricking work in the portal two years in a row. Really, really impressive.

We were all worried about the secondary (with good reason) and it’s been shored up again and with some depth going forward to 24 now, as well. Now on to shoring up LB and maybe another DL and the defense will be set. This staff will get it done.

Chestnut is more than just depth he’s a bonafide starter with all SEC potential. All ACC guy and was a freshman all American. Hell of a get

This is a legit grab.

CB1.

And Zy Alexander is going to free safety where his ballhawking and size will play big. Plus we can bring Brooks down to nickel where he can do Honey Badger things.

Gonna have a legit DBU secondary next year, y'all.

said right foot creep, ooh, I'm walking with that heater
Look around, stay low, make sure they don't see you
Catch 'em bad, walk down, face 'em with that heater
The devil under your feet, you're on your way to see him

Agreed, if our base defense is a 4-2-5, all will see plenty of playing time

Would've loved his teammate at safety also.

Always thought they needed to add 2 more corners.

It looks like the defensive staff has identified exactly what they will need to be a strong defense next season and not only simply getting good players now but the elite players at specific positions of need. Next should be LB depth and then also more elite starters or solid role players, like guys who are great at taking on blocks and tackling in a box, guys who can cover and guys who are great at tackling in space and running east and west. Then two more DL players, one edge rusher and another DE. All starter type players with experience and multiple years remaining for future depth concerns or a mixture of both multi-year starters and one and done. If we did that, we would need like 4-5 guys. It can be done and if they do it, I’ll be extremely impressed, once again, as I was several times this season.
