Jones started and played well this year at RT, I'm not convinced Heard will be able to take his spot like everyone else is suggesting. It is exciting to see the OL turnaround though and if we can just get a RB to pop off we will be tough to beat.

I don't think it would be Heard taking his spot, it would be sliding Jones inside to his natural spot allowing us to get our best 5 on the field but u think it'll be tough on Heard to start since he isn't an EE

By SEC play, this might be what we’ll be looking at for 2-deep:

LT- Campbell, Adams
LG- E. Jones, Martinez
C- Renfro, Turner
RG- Frazier, Dellinger
RT- Heard, Bordelon

In case it takes a few weeks for him to crack the starting lineup. Is he at RT with E. Jones at RG? Does he take WC job moving Campbell to LG, moving Frazier or Dellinger to C? Is he forced to just rotate in because we are solid everywhere? How does it play out? Of course it'll take some time for them to get experience but it's amazing how quickly Kelly & Davis have flipped the OL talent along with quality depth being built. I'm guessing him at RT and Jones at OG is most likely

These are good problems to have. But I agree with you... you're not keeping Heard out of the starting lineup the entire year. He will be starting by mid-season.

Obviously Will Campbell plays LT when Jayden is in at QB and Zalance Heard will play LT when Nuss is in at QB. So every other series, they'll rotate! Problem solved.

Crazy bc wasn’t Chester just dominating at the hs pro bowl at center?

To start season??
LT - Campbell
LG - Frazier
C - Martinez
RG - Dellinger
RT - jones

End of year.. if no injuries???
LT - Campbell
LG - Dellinger/Frazier as utility guys?
C - Chester
RG - Jones
RT - Heard

Or possibly have dellinger and frazier as experienced veteran locked in guards. With Chester, heard and Martinez as utility play a little bit of everywhere and get a picture for the future?

What a great conundrum to have! WC isn't going anywhere. He is the LT for at least the next two years. Emory played well enough to earn and keep the RT spot and honestly, he has become one of my favorite Tigers. Love his play. If Heard is as advertised, I guess you play him at RT then move Emory inside. I'd loveee to see WC and Emory on the same side. Talk about a RB's dream. We will some serious road grading. I trust Brad Davis and BK to make the right moves. It will be fun to have a line this good though for the next few years. That's how you win games, especilally in the SEC.

Sorry, there's no room in the Starting 5 for ZH.

LT- Campbell
LG- Dellinger
C- Martinez/Turner (Where the frick is Renfro? )
RG- Frazier
RT- Jones

Where's he play? Maybe, first off the bench.

Let him put the LSU pads on first and see if he can get the mental part down before you put him in the starting line-up......

That and just the fact that he will be a freshman. It is extremely rare to see a freshman play at tackle as well as Jones and especially Cambell did this past year. To expect even the best 5star freshman to be SEC ready and give us what Jones will at that position is a major ask. Though it is possible of course, just not likely IMO.

Z. Heard is as can't miss, as a freshman Oline starter, as we've had since Kardell Thomas. Think about that before you pencil him in.

My guess is that Heard will be on the bench all year long.

The guy at LT will be the guy who pass protects the best, and Campbell has been nearly perfect. I don't see him moving. Typically the right tackle is the better run blocker. When I look at Heard I see a run blocking RT.

Heard 100% will not start in this game

I could see LT2 playing off the line right off the side of LT1. Run off tackle or between the two LTs on half the plays = championship

Is Heard an early enrollee? That could significantly affect timing of a potential move.
