I would assume that he never gets to play again, but a few years ago he might have died on that field. Just ask Len Bias.

Edit: I was thinking of Hank Gathers. Also, I misspelled Len Bias.

With the advancement of medicine in the US, it would not shock me if he did return to football, but I'm no doctor.

I know it's premature to have this discussion, but was just wondering.

All you have to do is stay in a Holiday Inn Express

Who knows?

Maybe never or maybe next year. I mean everyone thought Christian Eriksen died on the the field in 2021 while playing for Denmark, and ended up playing for Denmark in the World Cup last month.

The Bills and the NFL will take care of him. If I was the Bills, I would give him a job if he wants it with the organization once he is cleared and fully recovered after having time off.

I'm going to guess you meant Hank Gathers

Way too soon. I hope he still makes a full recovery. Just a guess, but I don't think he plays again. Maybe he will feel differently. I just want to see him get through this.

I think he might have desire to but those around him won’t let him, assuming he recovers fully.

10% as of now. If a recovery he can participate with the organization he could become a representative and work within the community. His GoFundMe for the toy drive thing just an example of the good he wants to do off the field. Good PR and keeps him with the team if he can't come back.

until we get a true diagnosis, who knows
I would say doubtful

The basketball player at Fla that collapsed and is now playing for Kansas St - I never thought he would play again
Florida never cleared him again
And I know it's to different sports and Hamlin has to make a living tackling bigger players but basketball players can get hit as well in similar manners just playing defense

there is literally no way anyone who isn't his doctor can give any sort of informed opinion on this.

He is done. He will excel outside of the field and be financially taken care of

Whether he plays again or not, if I was Buffalo, Hamlin would get the Taliaferro/Penn State treatment at the first home game that he can be at next year.

Buffalo would be rocking for that.

But do we even know enough about the injury and his condition to know if playing again is even a possibility?

If the only issue was a freak hit, given his age, maybe he could play again.

But if there are other issues that were made worse / discovered by the hit, then no I doubt he will.

100% chance if he recovers 100%. Once it’s deemed that the hit to the chest caused the arrest and not some other cardiac anomaly, he will be at no greater risk of this happening again as anyone else.
