Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. said it might not be able to continue as a going concern, bringing another US retail chain to the precipice of bankruptcy.

The Union, New Jersey-based company said it’s pursuing an array of strategic alternatives, including restructuring debt, selling assets or filing for bankruptcy-court protection, but “these measures may not be successful.”

Dumb heading. They have been in trouble for a long time.

I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner to be honest.

Think about it, what can you get at BB&B that you can't find at any other retailer not even counting online? Even Walmart carries all that "Seen on TV" crap.

The worst day of bankruptcy for a corporation is the day you announce. The best day is the next when you can restructure with the banks and get business afloat again

Maybe my wife can throw away the 6 inch thick stack of 20% off coupons she's been saving since 2006.

Not sure this has much to do with Brandon, because retailers such as BBB are a dying breed due to online sales and delivery. In today's times the only type of retail stores that can maintain success are ones serving immediate needs, such as hardware stores for instance.

With that said, frick Brandon and let's blame him anyway. His presidency, his fault.

They've been circling the drain for YEARS. Every December, BB&B makes each network's list of Companies That Might Not Live to See 20XX.

Only things I buy there are sheets and pillows, and only because I consider buying those online too risky

Our store is closing soon. Some departments are completely bare. The SO stocked up on some things for cheap.

Fair enough as I can relate to that and the one time I bought sheets online was a massive disappointment. Call me bougie but if it's less than 1000 thread count or if they lie and doesn't feel like it, I'm not going to buy it.

I've never understood why the store is not more popular. It sells pretty good merchandise at a fair price.

The last sheets I bought were from MyPillow and they are good. Have bought Boll and Branch sheets and they are nice but were more expensive. I’m sure there are others but these are the ones I can recommend.

Too much competition and not enough innovation on their part

Should've never pissed of conservatives. I haven't stepped foot in one since they bounced MyPillow. Makes a difference. My wife works right next to one, and she doesn't shop there anymore since she knows I won't even go in one. Probably doesn't make much of a dent in their bottom line, but my wife wasted alot of money on that crap.

How can you inovate a bath towell or tea kettle? You can design it a bit (and I think BBB carries nice looking things) but that's about it. They were one of the first to deliver of the big chains, at least a year before WalMart.

I had, however, forgotten about the My Pillow removal.

Alienating a fairly large portion of your customer base was probably a poor decision.
