My 39 year old cousin recently had a heart attack and he doesn’t take care of himself like he should. That was a wake up call for me to take care of myself, eat better, and workout more. Now, that everybody in the house is back in the work/school routine from the holidays, I started to bring healthy home cook meals with me for lunch, stay away from sugary drinks and drink a lot of water. My son loves being active doing workouts and we have been doing them together. I was always tired when I got home from work I just gave excuses not to do it. I am done with that and looking forward to being healthier and in better shape.

I signed up for a half marathon that's 2.5 weeks away and I ate and drank like shite over the holidays. Jan-Feb is always dryout time for me

Haven't had a body part removed yet like I have the last two years, so day #4 is a success!

Just make realistic goals like
walk today not run 3 miles
Walk again today
Can you walk again today
Drink 1 less coke today
Don’t eat in your car
Simple easy discipline know your food and drink eat for the weight you should be not what you want don’t obsess

Dry January still going strong

Good for you and hope you keep it up.
Doing dry January (though it may be dry-ish January) and trying to hit 10 workouts (including cardio) per week minimum. So far so good.

I go completely dry the week before a race, but I am being conscious of when and what I drink more and more. A glass of wine or a beer with dinner is better than knocking back a few whiskeys

BMI? That’s crazy young.
Last year I was going to participate in one of those Spartan runs, but life and work got too busy and I missed the opportunity. I’m doing it this year.

My New Year’s resolution was to be as lazy and slovenly as possible. So far I’m right on track.

Quitting alcohol for good and it’s going well because I was already pretty dry since last June. Only drank a few times since then. Used to have 6-8 drinks and a half pack of smokes every night. Haven’t smoked a cig since October. Just quit smoking weed in December and only do edibles now. Feeling better than I have in decades.

My cousin is 6’2 and was always 205-210 range. He got a job a few years ago where he wasn’t active like his last job and got up to 290-300 pounds. He had a poor diet and drank too much. I am nowhere near his weight but I know I can be in better shape.

That’s still scary at 39. I need to quit drinking

Well, I think the problem with eating greens and black eyed peas for money and luck, us that they don't immediately work on New Years day. I'm gonna eat them every day till they work.

My new year’s resolution is not to have a new year’s resolution.
Quite the paradox.
