Fake Outrage Over the Injury Last Night

Its pissing me off that it seems that people have turned an actual tragedy into an opportunity to be "holier than thou" and try to condemn and cancel people. Why does someone need to be blamed?
1) The NFL has been around a LONG time and player get injured every week and every week the game goes on. I think them not realizing that this situation was different right away doesn't mean the league is evil. They eventually saw the situation for what it was and came to the correct conclusion to postpone the game.
2)As much as I hate Skip Bayless, he didn't say anything wrong in his tweet. He said the game seems pointless at this point but how do you cancel an NFL game? And he's right! There is so much logistics that goes into an NFL game that it cant just be rescheduled at the drop of a hat. We have seen it in college football wit Hurricanes where it takes a full week sometimes to figure it out. This also isn't just any game, there are a lot of playoff implications that would result from this game. Obviously the situation DID call for a postponement but wondering how they would pull it off isn't wrong.
Seriously frick people for taking focus away from the player and trying to hijack the situation in the name of hate.

what is wrong with having a platform to express thoughts and prayers and uninformed medical opinions?

People tried to crucify the nfl for the “take 5 minutes to warm up and get back out there”
When in reality it was “take some time and tell us what y’all want to do”

Nah man, didn't you know Goodell was literally on the phone personally screaming at the coaches to get their teams back on the field to complete the game?

It’s turned into a contest for some people over who can have the most over-the-top-emotional reaction with the strictest and most authoritarian guidelines on cancelling games for the rest of the season. It’s weird as frick

did they not show the referees saying you got 5 minutes to warmup?

even if they did say take 5 and get back out there, that order was given from far away in New York. People in the stadium, whether it be NFL staff or players or coaches were able to get the point across that this isn't a standard injury and the correct call was made.
Do you know how often a doctor makes a wrong diagnosis and then gets more information and corrects the diagnosis?

national sports media like Adam Schien are preaching like crazy this morning and taking calls from fans that are nearly crying. good grief

Most of the people mad at Skip either didn’t read the whole tweet or lack the intelligence to comprehend what he’s getting at. I don’t like him, but he was trying to frame how something we normally would see as massive implications was extremely minute in the grand scheme of what occurred. Of course that framing is pissing off everyone that expects you to tweet “Prayers for xxx” and nothing else
And giving the NFL shite about how the decisions were made is stupid. Their protocols probably saved Damar’s life. Yes they took their time to call off the game, but the important things were handled correctly and quickly

people these days are reactionary as frick, and also want attention on themselves.
Ading more rules, and more government, and more penalties to the game is not the answer for anyting. It was a freak accident with zero malicious intent whatsoever that was probably a one a million (or worse) type of event. Rules dont' need to chagne over it though.

You got motherfrickers on this board who don’t understand logistics well enough to throw a successful toddlers birthday party, yet want to lambast a multibillion dollar organization for how they handled this
The internet has expanded people’s egos to a whole new level

Actually this whole thread can be summed up by saying “Twitter is still a fricking cesspool run by cancel culture”. It lacks intelligence and nuance and runs on heightened emotion still. At least more voices can be heard now, but it’s nowhere near it needs to be

Yes they took their time to call off the game,
Yeah because its not like they can just say "Hey lets play tomorrow". They have to make sure the venue is free and can be ready, they have to make sure security and other stadium staff can work, they have to make sure the vendors will be able to open, they have to get refs assigned to the game, they have to figure out the TV situation, they have to make sure that both teams don't have conflicts going forward, there is so much to figure out that can't be decided in 5 minutes.

Fact is the logistics on the medical response are unparalleled. You wouldn’t get a faster response if this happened in the front door of an ER. The NFL took its time and prioritized what was important, and all the idiots on Twitter are trying to make this about themselves and their faux outrage for the players that had to wait it out a bit in an unprecedented situation. They don’t care about the man in the hospital, they care about how they were inconvenienced by having to watch players in grief

its just stuper convenient at this time for NFL to deny it. i don't think joe buck just made shite up on air about a resumption of play. there absolutely appeared to be a change of thought process in the minutes after the minutes when the ambulance left.

And they want the whole world to know how much they ‘care’
It’s the Anthony Jeselnik ‘thoughts and prayers’ set, but in real life

Because standard operating process is the game continues after the ambulance leaves. It’s what has always happened. Isn’t it plausible, or even likely, the refs and some players went into what is “normal” and started to prepare for play again until the nfl was like “um, let’s take some time here”
The refs on the field and such a aren’t reading social media and everyone going “STOP BEING SO INSENSITIVE AND DOING YOUR JOB!!!”
