Why is Monken not garnering more head coach interest?

With what he's accomplished at UGA's offense, one would think some programs would atleast interview him right?

I have been wondering this for so long.

He's even proven he can have success as a HC. Short sample, but he took a 1 win program and turned them into a 9 win team in only 3 seasons.

Doesn’t recruit. He’s fine where he is.

My wife was friends with his when he was in BR. Les wanted to make him OC when Jumbo left, but admins told him to go outside the program.

Maybe he is waiting for the LSU job to open up in a few years.

I don't pretend to know him or what he wants.

Word on the street around Athens is that he didn't enjoy all of the off-the-field stuff of being a collegiate head coach when at Southern Miss. The general feeling is that if he leaves UGA that it will be to go back to the NFL as an OC.

I'm sure he is behind the scenes.

Monken could easily go back to the nfl as an oc.

He runs the entire offense at Georgia and would probably only leave for the right situation.

Sounds like what we used to say about the HC of Baylor

2 major differences

1. Monken is old

2. Monken has already been a HC

Don’t know him personally but he could get some great jobs if he wanted.
I think the NFL would be a great place for him (now) but he may like college better.

There must be some reason for his unhinged obsession.

Some people just aren’t wired to be the head guy. They have a refined skill coaching a specific area and would rather get paid a great salary to focus on that, than an enormous one to deal with all the other bullshite the HC does.

We’re gonna find out about Kirby once the “revolving door” of assistants getting head coaching jobs starts. Sabans been replacing assistants for about 11 years now on the reg. Let’s see if Kirby is nick and can maintain or is he gonna be more dabo swinney.

The thing here is Kirby can find someone to replace and keep it going. Plus, Georgia is in the best location for recruiting top talents and money isn't going to be an issue for recruits. There is Texas A&M and they fell apart due to lack of coaching at key positions. Yes, Texas A&M should be back on top with the big boys this year.

Monken was the head guy at USM and did an amazing job. Took over a program that was winless the year prior and completely turned them around
