Good board always does me well.
I’m looking for an Asian inspired short rib recipe. Think sweet with soy sauce.
Whatcha got?

Flaken short ribs not english short ribs...look up kalbi ribs recipe, my household is partial to CJ korean bbq marinade. Doctor marinade with some honey/sugar/etc, white pepper, and some minced lemongrass.
Also, have some kimchee on the side along with jasmine rice or vermicelli noodles, lettuce, cucumbers and herbs.

Check the pinned cooking challenge thread. The short rib contest was really good. Lots of good short rib recipes in that one.

There’s this stuff called soy vey my Jewish buddy turned me on to. It was invented by an Asian chick and a Jewish guy. Marinate in that overnight and pressure cook, baw.

Rub ribs in 5 spice
Smoke low for 2 hrs
Slice onion, pepper of choice, ginger
Sweat these down
Add veggies to pot with some soy, vinegar of choice, broth of choice and reduce to a nice sauce.
Braise (300 degree oven, covered) for 2 hrs
This is more method than recipe.

Sear them braise until ready then add Zea’s Thai rib sauce and add sesame seeds . Put under the broiler for a couple minutes to carmelize the sauce and serve.

Go to fresh market. They have korean short ribs marinated in the butcher case.

Are you talking about flanken style Korean marinated short ribs or the braised cast iron English style short ribs?
Korean Short Ribs
If you're going for a Korean flare, Gochujang Chicken is really, really good as well. The marinade is fire engine red and looks crazy spicy, but actually has a great depth of flavor.

If you’re doing traditional grocery store short ribs, this recipe is great.

I didn't realize this thread is months old and was only bumped by a bot.
I was wondering why the OP wasn't responding
