I think they are definitely Final 4 candidates, but are they deep enough to win it all?

With their offense and defense combo and Mulkey coaching, why not? They will win an NC under Mulkey in no time either way.

Not sure yet. But if not this year, next year is very possible with the talent on the way.

Basketball is about 90% coaching, so yes. Basically the only sport where a coach can lead an average talent team to a deep tournament run on coaching acumen alone

So Poke was a great coach? The talent on the court carried her! /thread

This why she only went to the finally four. If Mulkey was coaching with talent like Simone and fowles, she wins at least one natty.

South Carolina looks pretty dominant, and will be very tough to beat. LSU can play with anyone though.

It would be extra sweet for Mulkey to beat Dawn Staley in the national championship. I hope Nikki takes over for South Carolina when Staley hangs it up.

We know this because Mulkey took a less talented team and beat that Simone and Fowles team in the final four and won her first title.

Eh basketball is the sport most determined by talent level. It is the ultimate Jimmie’s and joes over X’s and O’s sport

Have to shoot better... from the field and especially the free throw line! They can rebound and play defense.

I'm sure we have a lot of people who have watched a bunch of women's college basketball this year to know this answer.

South Carolina is stacked. Head and shoulders above anybody else.

Sucks, but it is what it is.

Final 4 seems attainable.

Yes, they would need to be a good bit better to be the prohibitive favorite, though.

I think they are a year away but Angel Reese is hard to stop. Need better and more consistent guard play to win championships, IMO.
