Jayden Daniels needs 121 yards passing in the bowl game to crack the top 5 for single season:
1. Joe Burrow - 5,671
2. Rohan Davey - 3,347
3. JaMarcus Russell - 3,129
4. Zach Mettenberger - 3,082
5. Joe Burrow - 2,894
…
8. Jayden Daniels - 2,774
He is currently #2 in total offense for LSU QBs:
1. Joe Burrow - 6,039 (holy shite)
2. Jayden Daniels - 3,592
Next season gets really interesting if he takes another step forward

Definitely close if you more talking since 2000 or so.
The games so different now that every qb looks halfway decent stats wise

I hope he makes it.

Since you skipped a few, and in the name of recency bias, I give you Max Johnson 2021:

225 completions on 373 attempts for a 60.3% completion rate and 2,815 yards with 27 TD's and 6 interceptions.

Top 5 only because the bar is extremely low.
Remove the worst and best and it’s easy to see that jd is still shite.
4000 yards is pretty standard for an above avg qb.

Some of you are way too caught up in stats. Did you even watch the games?

Much better qb than jd

Too many sacks, underthrows deep balls horribly, inaccurate down field, terrible decision maker, and does not make players around him better. Definitely not a true top 5 at LSU. If many other QBs played in a system that allowed them to throw as many times as modern offenses do, numbers would be much greater. With the exception of one year, LSU really hasn't been known for QB play or productive passing offenses. He will not change that reputation.

It's amazing to watch people play up his season just because he was in some Heisman odds top 10.
A guy who threw for 80 yards against Arkansas and Auburn.

I think moving forward we are going to see QBs continue to be top LSU QBs. We had such bad QB play for so long.

Bryce Young has 3007 passing yards this season. And is projected as the first overall pick.
Seven college QBs eclipsed 4000 yards this season. Seven.
How do you calculate "average"?

I don't think I'd go that far.
Daniels is an elite athlete, and he has a much better attitude. That counts.

Only if he runs less and trusts his receivers more. Perhaps KB7 felt he couldn’t?

Well stats are an evaluation of performance so I’d say they’re pretty important.
If stats don’t matter than the number of wins, championships, ect don’t matter either bc they are statistics…

Tommy Hodson was damn good

Jake Peetz really was kinda good with what he did with Max and zero running game.

If anyone lost trust, it was JD losing trust in Boutte.
Dude didn’t make one great play all season.

4000 yards over the course of 12 games is 333ypg passing or 13 games is 307 ypg.
There has been 8 QBs in the history of the SEC to do that. None in 2022. But it is standard.
How do some of you remember to breath?

So by standard you mean absolutely zero QB’s in the SEC did it?

The fact that Max sits in the top 10 is an indictment of how bad LSU has been at the QB position over the years.
