Lost Keyfob

We (I) have lost one of the keyfobs to my wife's RX 350 and called the Lexus place inquiring about a replacement. It appears they must be made of gold because the quote was $266 + reprogramming fee of $100 plus tax. Nearly $400 for it and seemed a tad high.
Do I have any other cost alternatives to get my wife off my back? (If this post is in the wrong place, have someone remove it.)

Slap a $35 Airtag on that sucker next time and you won't lose it.

You can program them yourself by hitting a combination of keys and hitting door locks in a certain order (at least you can on 4Runners)
Buy the new fob on eBay and google how to do it

Check with your local locksmith, most can do them much cheaper. Some hardware stores can even make them now.

This is what you get for driving a Chinese car

Trust me, I've driven $400 cars before. Several.

Call around some local locksmith places, they're usually cheaper but you'll still be looking at ~$200.

OK, maybe I'll edit the post and change it to my "my Mama's Hyundai" if the key replacement would be cheaper.

The Battery Store used to be able to run clones for most vehicles.
I accidentally kept a FOB on me at the water park before. No manual key. No backup. Middle of summer. Hell hath no fury.

I’d google how to do it before buying the new fob. Sometimes you’ll need both keys in order to program the third at home.

We get it, you have a Lexus.

I googled for you. From what I can tell there isn’t a self programming option on the rx 350.
You’d need a mongoose cable and techstream software to DIY, so you’re screwed
