Suggestions for Ski Resort

Beginning research for Mardi Gras 24. Went to Steamboat last year and wanted to try something different. Were looking at Keystone, Park City or Jackson Hole. 3 families of all intermediate skiers. Kids as young as 8 but who can all ski well. Looking for a legit ski in/ski out with restaurants, bars, entertainment within walking distance. Would love your suggestions, even if it isn't one listed above. Thanks!

Check out Breckenridge, Snowmass, Aspen, Winter Park, or Vail for a nice selection of things to do in a mountain village town

Park City hands down, especially with kids. Direct flights into Salt LAke City and can be on the mountain 45 minutes later.
Don't have to worry about the interstates shutting down, plus they have an awesome public transit bus system that can get you around to the different parts of town. Marriott has a couple of ski in/out hotels (one in town and one at the main base) that have regular rooms up to 3BR condos for families

I’m not a skier but I have visited many resorts in both Colorado and Utah.
Park City is amazing logistically.
Plenty to do there other than skiing.

Not keystone. There’s nothing to do there. I’m assuming with 3 families and kiddos this would be a terrible destination. Perhaps someone disagrees and tells you otherwise.
For me PC is a no brainer. Especially with trying to plan for that many people. It’s only 45 minutes from SLC airport. There’s TONS to do. Plenty of places to eat. Plenty of lodging choices for any budget.

Park city is great but I have never done Jackson Hole. I did not like keystone much at all - as a skier or for the town.

For what you want, Im with the majority, go to Park City.

The only bad thing about Park City is that everyone knows about it now; can get crowded on powder weekends and holidays. But since you’re going pre-spring break, you should be good.

Going with the crowd here, Park City is the winner here. Easy on and off the mountain, solid downtown with restaurants and entertainment. It’s close to the Salt Lake airport as well. If you get tired of there Deer Valley is just down the road.
We did Breckinridge earlier in the year, been out there a few times now and honestly the elevation can be an issue. You definitely feel it at 13,000+ feet. You really have to watch the kids and keep water in them so they don’t get altitude sick. My wife got it pretty bad one day. You can really feel the shortness of breath sometimes. Park City is only about 7,000 feet which makes it more manageable.
If you want to mix it up, look into Sun Valley or Tahoe. Loved both places. Or you could look into Telluride as well, that’s one that would fit what you’re looking for.

Snowmass, great family mountain with diverse terrian and the bus system makes it an easy trip to Highlands or Aspen Mountain. If you can fly into ASE you don't even really need to deal with a rental car. Took a shuttle straight to my condo last year, was the ideal ski trip.

Thanks everyone. Looks like Park City is pretty unanimous. Any suggestions on resorts? I know someone mentioned a Marriott. When I say legit ski-in/out, I mean we can walk outside of our place, put on our skis and get to a lift. Not cross a street, walk 500 ft, etc. We have had both in the past and I'd rather pay to basically ski up to my door, than to have to my kids tote their skis several hundred feet. Thanks!

How old are the oldest kids? Is every REALLY into skiing? Jackson Hole meets everything you want but its an intermediate to advanced mountain. Which is good and bad, and its also a big mountain so even on busy days its not busy. But personally if you went to Steamboat I'd go to PC and try to go to Jackson hole next.

For the PC base I think the Marriott and The Lodge are your only good options. We stayed at the Lodge and it was fine but it was basically individually owned units so there were no “amenities” that you’d get with a bigger hotel/resort. Canyons base has many more options but I’m not as familiar with them.

I LOVE Keystone so much, but you are right. I also love Copper. I always recommend Vail if you have the budget. But Park City would be great for his scenario.

My wife and I are planning a trip in late March early April. Is this too late to ski at Park City? I've never been skiing so this would be my 1st time, my wife won't be skiing but with what you guys are saying, there would be plenty for her to do.
I'd also like some recommendations on where to stay.

It is not. My kids spring break always falls during the last week of March into first day or two of April and we have gone to PC several times and normally get great snow. Great thing about going that late in the season is you can get some really good new snow without the frigid temperatures earlier in the season
