Thinking about heading that way for anniversary mid March. Any info on lodging, restaurants, pubs, etc. Appreciated

Hotel Vendue is a nice hotel in an excellent location with a couple of cool bars, including one on the rooftop.
Favorite restaurants include -
FIG
SNOB
Anson
Peninsula Grill
but this is a great restaurant town and there are many others.
It is very walkable. It reminds you of New Orleans without all the rift raft.

Thanks for the info. Lack of riff raff is definitely a positive

I’ve heard this a few times, but the wife and I spent our anniversary in Charleston this past year and had reservations at Halls. I was underwhelmed, especially for the price. Food was good, but not the “best ive ever had”, in my opinion.
Service was good. But it honestly was no better than any high-end NOLA Restaurant Service, pre C19 of course.
Scott? Hall, the owner, stopped by to congratulate us and brought us some champagne to celebrate. He seemed like a great guy and had a fun, quick conversation.
It’s worth the visit to judge for yourself, but we didn’t think it was worth the $500 price tag—including tip and a ~$120 bottle of wine.

My favorite restaurant in Charleston. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a nice dinner in town.

Used to live in West Ashley and agree with lots of the recommendations here. FIG was our favorite high end spot. Also check out Boneyard Beach and Fishnet seafood (very low key, get the Jesus crabs) for something off the beaten path.
Box Car Betty’s is really good if you want a chicken sandwich.

We spent three nights in Charleston right before Christmas. Stayed at Harborview Inn which we loved. Had a wonderful time and ate some great food. Our three dinners were at Church and Union, Chubby Fish and Muse. All good but Chubby Fish was off the charts delicious. They don't take reservations so we got there at 4:30 before their 5pm opening. It was well worth it and a very memorable meal. Lunches were at Bumpas and Cru Cafe. We did the Carriage ride and aquarium also.

If it’s nice take a Cat ride in the harbor. Under sail. Small boat.
