Sylvester Stallone as a 70+ year old NYC mobster fresh out of prison, banished to Tulsa. I’m kinda digging it. Stallone nails the aging gangster establishing turf while juggling family and “family” complications. Anyone else following this series?

It isnt bad for what it is. Typical old guy and fish out of water trope

I think it has gotten better with each episode.

I'm a big Martin Starr fan. Only reason I'm watching it.
I understand he is never going to be a huge star but I feel he captures some aspect of my generation pretty well in every role he's in.

Yes digging it very much.

The commercials turned me off. Stallone’s character comes across like a douchebag poser I know.

It's not bad, watchable. Was hoping for more Sopranos type characters. Not the same characters, just assorted characters. The mob guys are kinda weak. I'd tolerate some pacino/de niro copycat actor.

It’s not perfect but keeps my interest. Not sure at this point how the relationship with the likewise banished FBI lady evolves, and it’s kinda cool that Stallone’s daughter has a role.
It does seem like it’s starting to round into form.

Yes digging it very much.
Can anybody name an equally good one?
Jack Ryan on Amazon was excellent but it'll be a while until the next one.

I've watched every episode but it is a little silly. He goes to Tulsa and bullies a local weed dealer where weed is legal. So instead of calling the cops the guy just accepts giving Stallones character the money.
Then he sleeps with the cop who ignores all of his illegal activity while still acting like she will arrest him if he screws up.
Goes into a car dealership and beats the shite out of a guy and again no cops called. Then just says he is taking a vehicle for much less than the vehicle is worth.
Now you've got the biker gang and Stallones crew beefing over helium and some aspects are just silly.

And now we know

the weed guy seems pretty naïve. he says "what gangs?" when there is obviously a biker gang running wild. and the big weed farmer guy has his own thugs. Not necessarily a "gang" but, pretty much the same thing.

The weed guy has been feeling out Stallone the whole time to decide if he’s a legit gangster who can help him with his real scam.
Weed is clearly just his hobby.

I enjoy this. Pleasantly surprised

This is actually 100 percent believeable considering how messed up the chick is and desperate.

In real life. People are usually persuaded by fear to not call the police on extortion threats.
Be it a gang, 1%, or mafia. It's why the shake down works. To this day this racket really exists, though not as much as back in the day.
Sure you go to police. Police arrest guy. What happens next?

I’ve really enjoyed the show because it’s not your typical mob/mafia show.
