bullshite! Going under center is good to keep the defense guessing!

Yes it works a lot of the time but don't act like you've never seen the quarterback drop the snap or the center get blown 5 yards off the ball.

Well yeah I’ve seen that. I also saw LSU not know that a blocked field goal is a live ball, but that doesn’t mean I think we shouldn’t kick field goals. Any offensive coordinator that doesn’t have a QB sneak in the playbook should be put in court for coaching malpractice.

I think we should have maybe 6 wishbone plays in our back pocket

You're practicing one play. Literally take 2 minutes from practice couple times a week and run it a couple times.

The play itself isn’t the issue. It’s the center/QB exchange. If you’re going to go under center in a key game situation, you better be working on under-center snaps more than a few minutes every week.

I’m certainly not against it, but like someone else said it is something else your centers and QBs have to work on. IMO it’s still necessary/worthwhile.

Especially when we need one or two yards.

Look at the successful NFL Offenses. Many of them are lining up under center, using I-Formation and Pro Sets like its 1996. I read somewhere that over 60% of plays over 20 yards this season have come from the QB under center.
Football goes in cycles. There was a time when the shotgun/spread was only used by teams with a talent deficiency.
I would love to see us install a package with our QB under center, at the very least a goal line/short yardage jumbo package to get those 4th and 1's

You don't run a sneak with a 175 pound quarterback. Need a bigger guy. Also doesn't that just give away what the play is? If they did qb under center mixed in during the game, that's different.

For sure, but what do you take time away from? Only so many hours in a day and you can’t be great at everything. So many teams got away from pro style offenses because there was so much stuff to it and so much to learn and know. The Revolution of offensive football is rooted in the simplicity of what offenses do these days giving guys a ton of practice getting really good at a couple of things

QB sneaks are easy. They work even when the defense knows it's coming. There is no way to stop it. This is something that can be practiced for five minutes a day.

If you are going to do it, you need to do it as a regular part of your offense. It doesn’t seem like it but everything changes from qb steps to the timing of plays. You can’t just jump into it and expect it to be smooth

Well if JD5 wants to get to the NFL he might as well learn how to take snaps under center. I would think that Denbroc would also understand that - It would be great if LSU started getting more QBs into the NFL, other than Burrow. Would help with recruiting also.

Not true. Drew Brees was excellent at sneaks. There is no real injury risk to a QB on a sneak, they are literally just falling forward

Agreed...and you bring in your biggest rb because the “Bush Push” is legal. Between the o-line, the qb and the rb lending a hand....if you can’t pick up a yard when it’s needed, then you’ve got some serious issues.

Asking for a simple qb sneak under center is alot diff than asking the team to learn the pro style offense.

Which the pro style offense of today isn't I formation anymore. It is way more similar to the normal offenses we see in college.

It's asinine to not have a qb sneak under center play in short yardage/godliness situations. No need to remove anything from practice. Shortyardage and goaline are already practiced, just add in that simple play
