Don’t get how a hs kid can look at Alabama and say “this looks like a cool place to play.”

Just don’t really get how you can look at Alabama especially as an 18 year old and say “this looks like a cool place to play football.” They’ve got no heart! They’ve got no soul! They’re like Walmart or target, just a nameless, faceless corporation. They’re like the music that’s on top 40 radio. It’s empty, there’s nothing behind it. It goes no deeper than the surface.
It truly is the evil empire from Star Wars. It’s Ivan Drago from Rocky IV.
Theres no uniqueness to Alabama, there’s no flavor, there’s no distinction to it.
Georgia has something unique about it. Auburn has something unique about it. Arkansas and Tennessee have something unique about them.
Obviously, we have the most distinction and uniqueness of the entire SEC.
Just doesn’t make much sense to me how you can compare the two (us and Alabama) and say “yeah, I’d rather go play for that team, fanbase, and university full of NPCs.”

Any objective observer could easily see why Tuscaloosa is a better place to play football than Baton Rouge.

Saban and championships. It’s hard for some people to understand because you have purple and gold glasses. Others saying Bama paid more. Or he used LSU to get a higher NIL deal from Bama. If he picks Bama then maybe that’s just where he decided to go. I don’t see anyone complaining that Chester signed despite a big push by the school closest to him. Sometimes an 18 year old will do what they want to do. It’s best to wait for the announcement and then move on.

Why’s that?

Why is LSU the best place for him considering everything? What is everything? Do you know him personally and know what’s best for him?

I don't get how an 18 yr old chooses Bama to sit the bench for years knowing it not fun playing in that environment. Some players are chosen not because they are better than any player there but just because Bama doesnt want to play for another team and has no intentions of playing them. Can't their parents see what's happening?

I think it’s just the idea that he can start day 1. Or at least compete for that spot. We have a good history of putting players in the draft. Even in our worst season 2021, I think we still had double digit draft guys. Being a corner, or any DB, LSU is a solid place to be. Bama is as well, but I imagine the barrier to the field will be higher.

Their campus is beautiful, booty everywhere, and their brass isn’t even frick you rich but they’re frick you crazy and will do whatever it takes to appease shrimp dick
With that said they’ve certainly lost some shine as a program and things have gotten stale.
As far as I’m concerned this is the same class Alabama always signs, and they’ll be just as beatable as they’ve been the last five years.

As long as Bill and Pete are still there I feel good about our chances.

Who cares. They will be 10-2 at best next year and likely 8-4. We will beat them, Tennessee will beat them again, Auburn will beat them, Texas will beat them and maybe even either A&M, State, Ole Miss or Arkansas.
They will be worse next year than this year and they were not very good this year.

So Bama is taking Ricks just to keep him from other teams and not because he’s the number 2 cb in the country?

Sounds like you’re giving up on your sources ronk.

The strip in Tuscaloosa is better than the Baton Rouge college bar district. It is walkable. Very nice campus.
I am from BTR. Love LSU. Lived in Atlanta 20 years. Georgia. Clearly better. Auburn. Might be better. Bama is good. From kids college town point of view.
My kids were born here. They will never come back.
I do agree that I don’t know why an out of state 5 star goes to Bama … other than Saban and his Natty’s

If you’re gonna go anywhere in the SEC west based on desirability of the area, Fayetteville is it.

I’ll agree with your post and while I think LSU is trending up and Bama down, both programs offer 1 mil, both coaches talk about playing time early, Saban flashes 6 championship rings.

Kids chase money and championships now. If they get one and not the other.... they gone.
