Football IQ of fans

This is what I don't get with LSU fans and maybe it's the same with other teams. JD led us to the SECCG. That is a fact. Nuss looked like crap in the Southern Game. That is a fact. There are times when JD doesn't see the field or trust his receivers to throw deep. That is a fact. Nuss still continues to throw interceptions. That is a fact. So any reasonable fan can see that both QB's have their issues. They want to say that Nuss has the higher ceiling because he can "sling it" but JD did just that in the wins against FL, Ole Miss and AL. And he threw for 200 yds in the 1st half against GA when it mattered on a bum knee with no running game. I don't have a horse in the race as I want the best QB to play but the people willing to throw JD under the bus because of one half of meaningless football by Nuss is hilarious. JD has earned the starting position. If he comes back it should be his to lose. Yes he can lose it if he doesn't perform and we will find out real quick who will be able to perform in our first game against FL St. It will all be worked out by the end of that game. Either JD will have adjusted and trust his receivers to throw them open or Nuss or Howard will have the opportunity to do it better. But all of this hand wringing over who will transfer if this or that happens is a waste of time. trust the process.

Totally agree with everything you said

the dumbasses shine when they think they know more than the coaches who rely on winning to collect checks and see how they perform every day in practice.

I also agree but I don’t understand what it has to do with football IQ.
Football IQ would imply knowledge of X’s and O’s, alignments, etc.
I’d say there are high and low IQ people in both sides of the issues.
If football IQ were measured on a scale of 1-10 I will admit I’m at about 5.

Such a tired reasoning. Lee and Jefferson are great qbs by this stupid arse logic.

100%
Here are a couple of rules to go by -
#1 the coaches see the players compete and imrpove EVERYDAY. Fans don't.
#2 The best player plays. PERIOD.
There are 3 reasons why a player doesn't play --
#1 He's not ready yet or good enough, meaning - there are players ahead of them on the depth chart.
#2 Medical - The player is injured or ill
#3 Academics or Disciplinary reasons
BK, or any other Head Coach, does NOT have to tell us why a particular player isn't playing.

You make some really good points but Daniels didn’t exactly sling it in those wins. He was efficient passing and did a lot of damage with his legs but he didn’t miraculously find open receivers down field. To quote you, “that is a fact.”

A lot of the yards came on one play with Boutee doing most the work….that is also a Fact

Maybe you should start an online petition that yards gained after the receiver touches the ball shouldn’t count toward a QB’s passing yards

CBK will get it right!

How many 1k yard receivers Daniels produced this year. His problem is he’s run first pass if he feels like it’s safe. Sometimes you have to throw your guy open or put it up and trust him to make a play, Burrow does exactly that and that’s why he was a heisman winner and has already played in a superbowl. QB is not a one man show

Low football IQ in and of itself is not terrible. People with low football IQ can still enjoy the games.
Where it gets bad is when people with low football IQ don't realize that they have low football IQ. And it's even worse when they act like they know what they're talking about.
There are usually these types of all sides of most issues by the way.

Jesus Christ this. I watch a shite ton of football and I barely have a shred of understanding on strategy and concepts. Nothing more aggravating than watching a game with someone who thinks they are Peyton Manning breaking down film.

but they have actual zero clue what they are watching. all they know is hey that was a pass! or that was a run!

that is this board to a tee for years now. There is a reason myself and other posters call them "football ignorant". for some reason they have zero desire to learn yet have zero shame showing their ignorance daily here.
it really baffles me how people take no pride in their football knowledge prior to posting. They read incorrect crap some other clown has parroted and repeat it verbatim whilst having zero clue about what they are talking about as you stated.
it is mainly willfully lazy and ignorant posters. If you do not want to put any effort into learning prior to posting then put effort into coming here to learn. problem is, these people do not come here to learn. They come here to babble, bloviate and spew verbal diarrhea embarassing themselves. These people are completey devoid of any X and O concepts, counter concepts, formations, plays, branches of offense, defense, etc.
E.G. most here are clueless on what a counter trey is, what I-form twins is, ACE trips is, shotgun split is, what are the 4 main branches of the spread offense, what a 9 route is or what a 5 technique is.

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, but certainly you can see why someone would think a player with 0 games started and 126 career pass attempts has more room for improvement than a player with 4 years worth of starts and 1,094 career pass attempts right?

LSU being such a large fan base introduces many delusional dipshits. It also introduces many CFB nerds who are very realistic and knowledgeable.
It’s part of being an LSU fan. If you don’t want to deal with the idiots then go be a fan of a small program with no winning tradition.

All I know is LSU will be entering 23' with:
WRs
Returning starters:
Boutte - Belitnikof finalist
Nabers
Brian Thomas
Transfer:
5 star Aaron Anderson
Recruits:
5/4 Star Shelton Sampson
5/4 star Jalen Brown
Kyle Parker - considered extremely underrated guy like Nabers was
TE's
Maason Taylor - FR AA
Mac Markway - 4 star
Ka'mourren Pimpton - 6'6 9' wingspan 4 star freak
Returning entire OL starters
If LSU can't get 30+ passing TDs with this group something is seriously wrong regardless who is starting at QB.
