Motherfricker. I go to the deep south for Christmas to get away from the cold.

Good. I’m off work starting on the 23 and I don’t go back until the 3rd. I hope to have some nice wintery views out the window in front of my model desk.

So wait, you’re off work and want to spend it inside? frick that noise. Gimme 50 and 75 that week so I can enjoy not being stuck inside
I spend plenty of time on the go. There’s no better way for me to unwind than it be a cold winter day and I spend it right here…

Latest GFS shows five consecutive mornings in the 20s for the BR area. 12/23-27
Duke: If you see this, I've heard of a Miller A. Would a Miller B storm simply be not as prolific?

In Louisville area? You dont want to know the answer.
I was afraid of that.
I think it was end of 2017/beginning 2018 we had several days in the teens or below. I think it hit right at two straight weeks below freezing.
And Legend, I’m in Louisville.

Just happened to be scrolling through.
The A and the B are locations of origin.
Miller A, as you know, is a gulf low that cuts up the east coast.
Miller B, well it pops out off the Carolinas and does a nor'easter like an A.

Rain/snow mix continues to be in the forecast, but now it's delayed about 24 hours.

Interesting that the Canadian model seems to be winning out for low temps this weekend as I'm now suddenly seeing 30 for this Sunday morning in Baton Rouge.
GFS and Euro have been closer to 40 with the Canadian being an outlier in the mid 20s.

have a fig tree that probably won't survive. It would be fine if the bottom would fall out and then warm up in a day or two. With five or six days of sub-freezing temps and the potential for low teens to single digit lows, I don't think it makes it. I think it was in 2015 where we hit single digits in a cold stretch, and it just about killed that tree.
figs are pretty tough, I have had two handle freezes just fine. One in br for 2015 and another in Houston for 21.
Mulch it

Same here in St. Landry. 30 Sunday morning.
And 18 next Friday morning...YIKES!!

You’re correct. An above average December is bound to be balanced by a deviation in the negative direction.

Don't mean to ruin your white Christmas party...but the forecast for all of Southeast Louisiana on Christmas weekend (3 days) is a low of 34 in the evening. No white stuff. 21 degrees on the Thursday leading into Christmas weekend, but no precipitation that evening.

+13.2 is just insane! Shocking really.
I’ve tried to ignore how hot it’s been, especially since November gave us some cold days.

You haven’t ruined anything.
I know it’s not likely, but I also know that it can easily snow at 33-34° with a deep column of cold air, which it seems we’ll have.
Also, BR lows according to TWC are currently 20,25,31, and 34 (and trending lower).
I want to be abundantly clear that trending lower is the key phrase. For example, a few days ago, this Saturday night’s low was 40. Now it’s 30…

Obviously you don’t realize that it doesn’t have to be freezing to snow.

Dont worry about the details yet.
Ive seen snow falling with it 40 outside.
Gotta be dry near the ground to wet bulb that effectively.

You're in the window for the NAM now, FYI. For this weekend, that is.
