I’m referring more to replies that try to swing a thread toward politics, no matter how much a stretch it is. Before moderators moved threads to the PT that were “getting political” as the person I was replying to put it, moderators should deal with nuisance posters who want to hijack a thread about what car to buy into a thread about Congress subsidizing EV cars or whatnot.

Or maybe people don’t want this board to become PT Lite. Wanna talk about some right conspiracies go to PT. For fricks sake we had three separate long lasting political threads on the SEC Rant last week.

Meh. I am the worst possible thing ever…a moderate. Some people like OMLandshark are so butt hurt over politics they literally cannot enjoy a movie or tv show any more.
This policy is really needed on the M/TV board as that place is nothing but value judgements on political agendas.

It all went off the rails when the PT moderation when full true believer (though putting GtG as admin over there was a good recent move imo) . Made PT unreadable for most, so politics start spilling over to other boards.
Good luck trying to fix it now.
Id suggest some leeway for local/state politics on the OT. Same with things like Ukraine/national interest stories.
Keep them contained to one thread of course, but youre going to lose engagement if everyone has to go to PT for those discussions.

Can you guys update rules and be clear and even with punishments? I get warnings then see another poster do the same thing and keep going. I do appreciate the warnings and that seems newish instead of just banning. Or I guess maybe more specific in messages because I usually get banned for things I don’t think I’ll catch a ban but get it for something silly.

Face it. The Poliboard is MAGA-cult exclusive. No one who wants to have a reasonable discussion wants to post there.
The cult is getting bored with their circle jerk and are migrating to other boards to find excitement.
Moderation is what keeps message boards tolerable.No one complains when a Movie/TV thread gets whacked or moved from the More Sports Board.

The solution is some sort of current events/philosophy/religion board that is heavily moderated. A handful of simple ground rules brutally enforced.
