You say that, but it seems like that’s just one of those things everybody always says (me included) but isn’t really true. It isn’t very often you hear about child molesters getting killed in prison, and there are a hell of a lot of them in prisons everywhere.
I think this may just be something we (society) tell ourselves to make us feel better.

IIRC, they had him arrested and thrown out of a meeting for bringing up what happened to his daughter, then sicced the Feds on parents in the district claiming harassment.
