First off, Mike Leach is my all time favorite football coach. RIP

Secondly, it's a matter of when not if Kingsbury is getting fired from the cardinals. He could come to Miss St without blowing up the program that Leach built there in starkville and continue his mentors initiative while coaching in the SEC.

To me it's a no brainer: make kingsbury tell you no. he's coached at a power 5 school in texas and of course in the NFL.

My guess is Kingsbury is too Hollywood for Starkville...

Glendale to Starkville is quite the leap

Seriously though, I think that hire would make sense.

it makes all the sense in the world. kingsbury can either be an OC in the NFL or be the next coach at Miss St. showing that he can still coach football and make more money than being an OC. he's run a college football program before. he has recruiting in roads in texas. it's a perfect fit if he wants it.

Kiffin coached USC and the raiders and currently resides in oxford

ETA: the raiders were located in oakland, not LA

The “LA” Raiders?
Yeah, Marcus Allen really enjoyed playing for Lane Kiffin.

I guess you could consider doing what he did “running” a program. He was not good at Texas Tech. 35-40 only going to three bowls in six years. He has not been good at Arizona. He needs to be an OC somewhere like Alabama for a couple of years since they are going to have to reduce O’Brien’s role.

State is hiring Arnett or they will be looking for a DC and a head coach next season.

She's from Poland. Starkville probably looks like New York to her.

Well, he was “slumming it” in Boca Eaton/Palm Beach, FL before moving up in the world to Oxford.

Has anyone failed up more than him? 1 yr as OC at AtM and got the Tech job. 6 yrs there with sub .500 overall and Big 12 records gets fired. Becomes OC at USC for a month and was then hired by Arizona with no NFL experience. Not a bad career if you can get it.

nah they need to just name someone interim for the next year. keep the staff intact, and keep players there. Allow State the time to get an AD and make a hire

One of the reporters here in Dallas is good friends with him and said on the radio a while back he loves the NFL life and hates how college football is all about the NIL and portal.

She said she'd be shocked if he ever came back to college.
